Depending on the weekend, I'd be in for this tuning session as well! Been looking for an excuse to get up to MN while the summer is still here..

I just talked to Steve Kan and my car should be ready in about 3-4 weeks. Then I'll schedle a cheap flight and pick it up when I can.

He would be available to come to Twin Cities the second week in October(14-15). I'm not going to spend a lot of time trying to get enough people for this. If you're interested then sign up. Tell all your other RX-7 guys with aftermarket ECUs and see if they want in. It's $100 ahead of time and total of $350. Need at least five commited and already have two cars from Frank Bennet.

October is a good time as the weather should be cool.

So let me know and Steve will need info about your cars ahead of time to make sure the car is ready to be tuned.

Thanx,

Ken

i towed my car 6 hours to st. louis, stayed ina ghetto *** hotel, delt with crackheads to redneck chicken f*cks talin smack cuz i was driving a japanese car, drove 2 hours out of the way to get race fuel,.... all for steve to tune my none running fd.
i started losing fuel pressure @6800 rpm/ 10psi wastegate spring and still made 370hp(my own fault)
i had a weak fuel pump and haltech problems(i wont go into details)
running race plugs on this dailydriver and havent had any problems at all!!! nothing!!!
even better fuel economy.

Steve Kan is the man and down to earth too!!
definitely worth the drive/tune
he can diagnose any problems that may arise simply by closing his eyes and using magic.
i swear....i watched him pinpoint problems without turning a single bolt.
well....it's either magic or x-ray vision

Atkins motors typically are flawed in some way.

Sounds like a GREAT deal meeting a professional in tuning. Everything I have learned about tuning comes from feel of the car, and self experiences. To see a differnet aspect of tuning would be great!

So far all we have is Frank Bennet's two awesome RX-7s for this tuning event.

Check this out for next weekend of fun. State Fair starts that weekend also.

Questions

I am interested in tuning my FD + Apexi RX-6, but that weekend conflicts with the Speedseekers Road America event. (Which I'm already pre-paid for)

Is there any chance he will be here on Friday, or just Sat/Sun of that weekend?

Also, where is the link to "sign up" and place a downpayment?

I'd act fast for early October 7-8, 2006.

We have Frank Bennett down for 2 FDs a 2-rotor and a 3-rotor. I PM'd all the people that showed an interest.

This could be a big event and I think I can talk my brother letting us meet a his 4800 sq ft shop in Blaine. He has two hoists and lots of tools.

I am interested. I have a question about what is needed. I have wideband o2 installed, powerFC with commander, boost gauge and controller. I think my knock sensor may be shot though. I may have you tune my GT35R setup if I can get it in before you come.

Please go ahead and add yourself to the list below...

1.)
2.)
3.)
4.)

I'll need a minimum of 5 commitment and 5 deposits minimum to get this going. Once I receive all deposits, I'll go ahead and purchase the airfare and deposit it to pay for the airfare. If I didn't get the minimum requirement, the deposits will be returned and the date will get pushed to a later date. Also, once the airfare is purchase, the deposit will become non-refundable. I will need to purchase it 3 weeks from the tuning date so the deadline will be the 15th of sept.

If you're in for sure, go ahead and send your deposit and add your name above:

2) Aaron Butler (20B FD)

I'll also get the downpayment mailed out this weekend. Steve, is it a check for $100 or $200 for the deposit? I thought the thread said $100, but I see on your Gothum site that it's normally $200.

Thanks a ton.

Steve Kan Tuning

I can do Oct. 14-15, but I will be out of town Oct. 7-8. My cars will be here, but nobody is around to drive them over. I am bummed, as I REALLY wanted to do this.

Howard Coleman said he'd come over from Green Bay, WI if it could be tuned on a dyno. I found a dyno available on Saturday. Anyone else like to have there car dyno tuned. Tuning on street is dangerous. You do many 3rd gear pulls to 100mph.
