big ass alum wings, gay, no?
Gayest Gay of all Gays. If you have one on your 7, please take it off and donate it to a 16 year old with a Camry or an Accord. I **** you not, I saw one of those giant *** aluminum *** wings on the back of a Hyundai Sonata yesterday. I think I got **** all over my seat from laughing so hard.

So I was thinkin...hmmm...How often would the german geniuses put totally non-functional "ricer" equipment on their premier vehicle...a Porsche?
Without a doubt, spoilers help generate a great deal of downforce as speed increases (yes at the expense of drag...)
The average speed large spoilers generate significant downforce at is 80+ mph...(granted it becomes a SERIOUS resource at like 140mph). Point is, I dunno how your driving is, but I definetly exceed 80 mph on practically every drive I take the FD on, regardless of day/time
Oh and Batman, I'm definetly lookin forward to the pics =)

I like the looks..... even people that are anti wing look (even stock wing) kinda like it since it was done right by powder coating it the same color as the car.
There are no adverse effects on MPG at legal speed limits, but the occasional 100MPH+ races that i get into on the freeways have helped in rear sectiona stability.
The car just feels more glued on turns and lane switching.

On a serious note, do some ppl think the drag on large spoilers can be THAT significant??

If the car didn't have the HP and was FWD then it would be rice.
Rice is mod that has no function IMHO.
People say that there is drag which in turn adversely effects MPG.
it's ironic when one is racing

Agreeing with batman,
FWD and unable to reach high speeds on dragstrip = useless wing which makes car guys laugh
RWD, high hp, high speeds, big wings help downforce
dont you love seeing civics with huge wings, decals, and euros?? and then when you ask them what they have under the hood theyre like "cold air intake, muffler......" I just get a good laugh on the way home

By doing that, you're missing the whole point...ricers basically take functional mods we do to our cars, and replicate them in a non-functional fashion on their own...that is the very ESSENCE of rice...
eg: FDs need fire extinguishers. 2 lb - 5 lb halon *real* extinguishers
rice: APC A-pillar 1 lb foam extinguisher
like batman said, large spoilers used for downforce
rice: 85 hp civic or neon w/ spoilers larger than the rear windshield, which can never be functional, given it's a FWD car lol
decals of your sponsor or parts you're running
rice: APC decals (ESP. on foreign cars lol), and on stock cars, (like your F&F decals)
carbon fiber body parts for weight reduction on your rx7
rice: carbon fiber "look" on your 2000 lb 85 hp stock "mAd TiTe RiDe Yo!"
i won't ramble on, but i think the point is clear

When I get my car back from the shop, I'll snap pics and I guarantee that I'll convert some folks to the "dark side" as I did with the all black look along with the black wheels.
I know it looks good when 70 year old drivers gawk at the car with it's menacing look........

I get more than enough old AND young drivers gawk and hi-beam me...but I think it has a lot more to do w/ my driving than w/ the car...lol
(Ever have someone try to actually jump in your way cuz they think you're breaking the law by going too fast? I have...lol)
But hey Batman...you got any pics of your all black on black FD from before? Don't think I've seen it...

no one jumps infront of their dark shadow.
People have to identify my car first and the initial looks i see on their faces say WTF is that????

i have a cwest carbon fiber gt wing on my car right now and for it being a $2000 wing i hate it because its so damn big. but it does help when your going 160 down the interstate racing a new corvette, you can really feel it hug the road. but other than that im selling mine because i think it looks cleaner without it

and for those few seconds when you're rapin that corvette or porsche, and you'll gettin the downforce and traction you need, well...in my book, it's all worthwhile. I dunno how you guys feel comfortable w/o a wing if you really go fast at all...to me she feels pretty sloppy over 120 w/o a wing
ill take functionality over cosmetics ANY day (even tho IMHO the right wing done properly is functional AND asthetically beautiful)
