This worked out good for me because I didn't want to remove my engine damper and the lines for the oil coolers won't let me mount them on the intercooler crossmember. I had also removed the hard lines for the A/C which opened up that spot, plus the stud that holds the wiring harness provides a solid mounting point. This might not work out for everyone.

Has anyone else with dual oil coolers installed this successfully?
Also, I'm semi local to you, AEKnights. If I were to get in on this GB, could you either install it for me, or point me in the direction of someone in the Bay who is familiar with this rack and can help me out?
thanx

interesting. But isnt that closer to the turbos. Where as we are trying to move it away from the turbo. But either way, I dont think it should be a problem to be honest. =)

Good job!

Yes, I do installation for customers. I've already had a local who ordered a set from me, but he hasnt have time to bring his car for installation. If you are a handy man, this shouldnt be too bad just time consuming and tedious.

However I do charge a labor for complete vacuum hoses replacement + this solenoid rack installation. Please PM me for additional information.

Yes, the heat from the turbos is one of the disadvantages. I didn't have many other choices. I do plan to bundle the vacum lines and shield them somehow from the heat. Maybe a heat shield later on, since I open the hood as soon as I turn my car off it should be ok for now.

**** UPDATES FOR GB#5 ****

Guys, it seems that fabco air is lacking about 6 more solenoids therefore they have not ship out the packages yet. I apologize for this inconvenient. I will keep you all posted as I keep contact with their sales rep. Maybe demand gone up, I hope they wont raise the price on these puppies ^__^. Thanks all for your understanding.

Solenoids

Eric,

I reread all the posts and have a couple of questions:

On Feb 1st the price was $632.54 and on Feb 28 it was $703.23 (plus shipping and Paypal fees) What is the current price?

Back on Feb 9 you mentioned 35' of 3.5mm hose needed for the complete hose job and later there was a post saying 25' was the correct amount. Can you clarify? Also you mention 3.5mm and 6.0mm. Are there any other sizes needed when doing the complete hose job?

Will you be offering the old style and the new style solenoids in the future?

Joe

I can answer part of that. When I did mine I put them behind the abs unit so depending on where you wanna put the solenoids it might differ. I ordered 25ft of 3.5mm and 15ft of 6mm. When the entire thing was done and my rats nest was deleted along with all emissions I had about 3ft of 3.5 left and about 10ft of 6mm left. Those should be the only sizes needed for a complete hose job. As for pricing that's all eric.

Joe,

$632.54 is the base price (complete rack system + PnP harness).
$703.23 = $623.54 + $50 international flat rate shipping + paypal fee.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Just did a full installation + vacuum line job for FC/FD here on the forum. Road tested his car, transition was smooth and that 3k hesitation was almost none existence. What a blast to drive when the sequential is working properly.

However I did noticed a crack on the boot of the Y-pipe causing a small boost leak, once replaced and have him fix his idle/tuning, I am sure his car will drive differently.

I offer bay area installation + vacuum hose replacement job. For those that are interested, please contact me. There will be a discount in purchasing the rack + installation done by me.

Feel free to contact me through the forum via PM or email me @ ezheng86@yahoo.com or simply call my cell @ (415)683-8893 for more information.

As for GB #5, I apologize as fabco air still does not have the last 6 solenoids I needed to complete the kits. Please bare with me for 1 more week, if I still havent get it I will see if I can get another set of solenoids from elsewhere.

Zac,

Thank you for the compliment. Really do appreciated the fact that members understood my situation.

I shouldve updated yesterday but I was having a fever and was on bed the whole day yesterday. I did not get a chance to get any heat shrink and soldering iron. However, I am back today still sick but I will try and get them out asap. I apologize for this inconvenience.

And I ask for everyone's consideration to allow me have them ship out no later than Saturday for sure. As I am slowly recovering and working at the same time. Trying to satisfy customers at the shop, get their car out and at the same time getting these solenoid racks to everyone in a timely manner.

Thank you for listening =) Have a wonderful day.

-Cheers,
Eric Zheng

**** updates ***

Ahhh, upon receiving the package, I didnt get a chance to check all the parts.

Today when I was assembling the racks, I found out that we are missing 3 types of fittings from my vendor.

I just emailed them and see if they can have it overnight to me, I am still aiming to get these out by Saturday. Fingers crossed, why is this happening to me T_____T.... especially when I am sick... sigh...

I will keep everyone in GB5 updated, thanks all!

GB#5, unfortunately the fittings wont be here until next week. I already have the harnesses and solenoid rack assembled and awaiting for the rest of the fittings to arrive. I apologize for this delay as there is nothing I can do. Thanks much!
