From what I have read you can definitely make this upgraded solenoid rack fit underneath your UIM. With that said, one of the goals for relocating the solenoid rack away from the stock location is to protect the solenoids from the high heat temps that occur under the UIM.
The less heat the solenoids are exposed to, the less the plastics / components will be baked. Relocating it to the ABS area helps combat this. I agree, from photos that I have seen of this relocation it looks awful but I would think that for most people interested in purchasing this kit, the functional and preventative benefits outweigh the negative points in aesthetics.

Now What?

I had a bracket made and first had them bolted to the strut tower on the inner fender. (LHD) I then had them mounted under the UIM. The crew at Rotary Performance in Dallas modified the manifold and built a heat shield. If the stock plastics ones held up to the heat for 15+ years these heavy duty ones should last will no problems. I had this done couple of years ago with no issues.

I'm curious....I was reading through this to see if this was a viable option for me. I understand the need to remove the solenoids away from the heat on top of the engine...but I seriously cannot get around the uncoordinated way the vacuum lines run when it's relocated next to the ABS.
Now, the dimensions of this are 6 x 1.25 x 2"....as I read earlier in this thread. with a little modification, I don't understand how these would not fit under the UIM. 2" height seems more than enough since the height between the racks is actually just under 2". even if they didn't fit that way...you could turn it sideways.
This pic is of the modified rack that I'm using to mount my stock solenoids. granted, I've damn near removed everything that I don't need and only using the solenoids to run the sequential system.
From my perspective, with what I'm using, I could probably make this work to fit under the UIM.

I'm kind of hoping someone else signs up now, I'll not drop out as it's unfair to the rest of you guys but I'm now moving in a month so cash flow will be all over the shot!
