After many has used and confirm that other than hose technique hoses are great, an alternative to less expensive hoses but still great quality would be hoses from high performance stores.

My recommendation for doing a ratnest vacuum hose job would requires:

30' 3mm hoses
10' 6mm hoses

I hope this answered many who was unclear in regards to how much/what size hoses they need.

Iono, I've had ALL positive feedback on this kit and everyone loved the way the kit improved on the "responsiveness".

I guess in this economy, putting almost $700 on one mod might be alot. But in my personal opinion, whoever still rocks the twins and want their cars to be reliable, this solenoid kit is a MUST.

I've had an instructor bought this kit from me (off the GB list) and he had dynoed it and it showed that there were BARELY any dips during transition which was very impressive according to him.

I hope more guys who purchased the kit can chime into this so we can get more people out there rolling with these baby and enjoying their FD the way it was meant/engineered to be.

As Chris Ott from RX7.com told me after he saw how well this work, "this solenoid rack is so BADASS!". My car has never ran better, best upgrade you can get if your keeping the twins.

I have recently installed this kit, and have been having issues with the Charge Control Actuator. Mine is constantly open (rod pushed OUT) which would seem to indicate lack of vacuum, which is normaly supplied by the vacuum chamber. Now, I know that the CCA is not "stuck" because when we had one hose mis-routed, the actuator was constantly IN, and would not open, even under boost, thus I had primary boost only, with no transition to secondary...

According to the hose diagram supplied, the vacuum chamber is routed, via tee fitting, to the intake manifold and then directly to the solenoid pack. Then it splits, via Y fitting from the "front" of solenoid "X" on port "A", to "H" on port "B", and then directly to the CCA.

My question is, if this routing is correct why is my CCA apparently not receiving the vacuum it needs in order to be closed from idle to 4500 or so RPM? It seems that is is constantly seeing pressure...

Did you reroute following 100% with my vacuum routing diagram or did you routed following my instructions? I've double checked the instruction as they were correct (the picture can not justify the metal tubing hoses with the y-split).

If it is receiving pressure, most likely your hoses were routed incorrectly. I will try my best to help with this issue as everyone else who followed my diagram did not have any issues at all.

If you dont mind me asking, can you completely remove ALL the hoses for the 4 solenoids on the stock form and CAP all the metal tubing. Then using my diagram provided, route your hoses that way DIRECTLY to the source and see if you have any problem. BE SURE TO PUT THE PILLS back into the vacuum lines IF directly connecting to the turbo.

OR you can leave MOST metal tubing capped and use ONLY two of the metal tubing color coded BLUE and PURPLE in my diagram that way you dont have to route directly to the actuator itself and put pills in them. However crawl under the car and make sure those two hoses are connected correctly and be sure they are cracked or busted.

Not to be rude, but is your tech a rotary guy or he just works on most cars?
Reason I ask is because many tech I know works great with piston cars, but when it comes to Rotary, they start scratching their heads especially a confusing job like this vacuum hose/solenoid job.

If you were here in my shop, I'd be more than happy to check the routing for you.

Also, can you take a picture of the complete solenoid rack unit (front and back view and text it over to my cell) so I can make sure it is correctly assembled. (Even though I am sure it is, but hey I can make mistakes too)
