Fd front cover oil leak plls help
Hello
I was able to confirm recently the location of oil leak in my engine , coming from top part of front engine cover . The leak isn’t visible until rpm are 3k and higher.I tried to find any info how to replace front cover gasket on fd but have had no luck. I feel a bit nervous after reading about the risk of trust bearing , and debating doing it myself or bite the bullet and let the professionals do it , as its not going t be cheap. Engine is healthy and has no other issues with about 28k and currently still in the car. Can anyone point me out to the right direction?
thanks in advance

I am surprised that nobody has made a tool where you remove the starter and bolt the tool into place to force the flywheel forward. Maybe something spring loaded that incorporates a ring gear lock.
Obviously not possible to hold the clutch pedal down for this effect with an FD, with the FDs pull type clutch, but the one time I used the clutch pedal method, the pivot ball broke during the after repair road test. Coincidence? Possibly.

Remove timing cover. Restack front end, re-install timing cover etc. You would also do front main seal while your here, o-ring for front main bolt, copper washers for front oil cooler line and rear. Gaskets for water pump housing, water pump.
I would be concerned why a new engine has a leak like that in the first place. You would also use the opportunity to check the front stationary gear bearing while your their and change if necessary.
last time we did that job it would be the equivalent of 3100usd (we are in aus so it's possibly different)
We have done that job in the shop while the engine is in the car. it's a labour intensive job.
