I used various "stop leak" products to fix mine.

After several bottles over a year, leaking fianlly stopped. The engine continued to run for 10 years as a daily driver.

i would guess that it would be your front cover gasket is bad...probably hardened and shrunk.

-and fr cover can come off without dismantling entire motor - still a pain, but better than having a leak between _housings_ and the rebuild that follows
-don't ask me how I know...
