Adding 2 cycle to your gas?

I have been told that adding 2 cycle in addition to the gas can help the rotary engine, as it already burns oil from the factory? Is this true? And how much would you mix to do this?
Sorry for all of the n00b questions, I do dont know a damn thing about rotaries lol. EX DSMr lol.

All true, we run Klotz 2 stroke oil in the race cars when we remove the oil metering pump (OMP) We go with what the manufacturer recommends which is 1oz to the gallon.

most of the stand alone guys are running premix oil in their gas because most stand alones dont know how to properly run the oil metering pump. Usually its ran at a 1:128 ratio of oil to fuel....

some people run it in addition to the OMP also... but then they only add like 4 ounces to a complete tank of fuel... The extra lubercant is always a good thing for these engines

On a stock engine you don't need to premix oil unless something is wrong with your oil metering system. The engine doesn't need the same amount of oil all the time and having too much doesn't really help any.

Race cars and standalones are a totally different ball game...

tour apart my friends moter that had 250,000+ miles on it in a s4 fc and he would put a few ozs of pre mix in everfill up and his rotor housing had almost no chiping on the edges.

I think at one time or another some of us have broke a line. I did, and used hard emissions tubing. But anyway, Ive heard nothing bad from premixing.

Hey, 87rx7girl, want to go on a PM date? PM me if you do.

I dunno. My 12A has a fully intact and functioning OMP. I still add approx 1/2oz 2 stroke oil per gallon of gas every fillup. Last set of plugs were changed due to having over 10K miles on them, but looked almost as good as the new ones that went it to replace them.
When I discovered one of the oil lines leaking at the carb, I was derned glad there was premix in the tank.
Power nor fuel mileage suffers from this as far as I can tell. 19-23MPG average, depending on how much hiway driving I do, and how heavy my foot gets. Has topped 26MPG on a 700+ mile road trip. Not too bad for a mildly ported engine.

I'd have to agree with forced inducted fd dude as to research and understand what and why your doing it before going ahead. I do run about a half once of penzzoil outboard per gallon as a little extra insurance but i'm running a banzai racing massive street port and the first power fc install chris did on a s5 t2. as for oil meter lines i upgraded to stainless braided ones but the guy that was makeing them wasn't to reliable at supplying

I road race a PP 13b and we run premix Royal Purple and our engine is perfect unless we blow it. NO need for Pre mix if your running metering pump as was said before

I ditched the omp because it was broke. I decided to run premix for the shear idea of my internals being a little cleaner for a teardown if ever needed.

I don't rely on the antique OMP and lines 100%. I still add around 1/2oz 2 stroke oil per gallon of gas, just for insurance. When the rubber elbow on 1 line decided to start leaking, I was DARNED glad I had a backup plan already in place. I don't know how long it was leaking, before I saw the puddle of oil on the carb spacer, but it was a good size puddle.
