The 10A engine went in the R100, and was a detuned version of the L10A which went in the Cosmo Sport.
I knew someone who 20 years used the 12AT turbo on his Cosmo Sport. From memory it had poor low end power and had to be rebuilt very frequently. The top end was really exciting on such a small car. The L10A was some 10% more powerful than the 12A as in effect it was already 'streetported' to give performance to the CosmoSport. Then they brought out the10B which really gave power !
In comparison the RX-7 was a backwards step with less performance and handling ability. Until 1985 Mazda thought of the Cosmo as their sports car, with the RX-7 the mass produced profit maker with minimising costs a critical factor
If you have the 10A engine I suggest bring it up to 10B specs and try turbo if you have a stack of spares.
