Which ECU? 87 Turbo II. megasquirt?

Planning my build out and looking into which standalone to go with for this chassis.

Essentially will be an engine refresh with a full bridge, sending the turbo out to BNR for a stage 3/4.

I am most familiar with Megasquirt, as I have a turbo Miata running on E85 with a Megasquirt MS3 Pro. Are there any limitation on this chassis with megasquirt? any of the other standalone's offer features that should make me want to learn a new tuning system?

if you're familiar with the MS stuff, you'd be way ahead to run that on this car too..

turbo is too small for a bridge port.

Still too small even with the BNR wastegate port out to 34mm and a upgrade to T4 compressor housing?

Alot of things have changed since 04 though no? I think BNR made some changes to the hybrid setups.

What would you recommend as a decent upgrade path replacing the stock turbo?

bridgeport wants to move a LOT of air, and has a lot of overlap, so its going to want a bigger turbo.

the BNR would do well on an engine with a smaller port, which is probably nicer on the street

Gotcha, yeah.. im starting to see that in more and more builds.. maybe a half port or aggressive street port then. Or street in center, bridge outside. Thanks a ton for the info, ill have to start a build thread to capture these decisions in.

To get this back on track to the subforum, i do think ill be going megasquirt. Which version though is still up in the air. Maybe Do a small patch cable and keep stock engine wiring harness.
