Megasquirt ECU

Since nonameo's link got moved, I'll repost it with a little better description. This is *NOT* a group buy, it's not a for sale ad, it's a source that is relevent in this forum. Al Grippo is no longer selling these as a group buy, he purchased 500 pcb's and is going to sell them and restock them as he goes. What does this mean? For anyone who's followed Megasquirt, it means they are now available whenever you want them, instead of having to wait months for the group buys. And, to honor nonameo's attempt, here is that link once again for those of you that were interested in this. Also, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me or renns (I think that's what his screen name is). He's currently got it on a series 4 running piggyback with the stock ECU for ignition, and I'm basically cloning his setup. Now, here's the link! Please do not move this thread!

Thanks man.. I put another post on that thread after she moved it... I realize that it is not a group buy, but then again all tissue ends up getting called kleenex doesn't it?

I got burned, oh well. I have everything I need for my MS, I just need to assemble it. I should have it done this weekend, and if not, then the following. This excludes tuning, though.

Damn you ted, here I thought I could trust you! ($50 for the partial kit, isn't that higher than it used to be?)

Nonameo: how are you going to hook it up, piggybacking the stock ECU or using a FB distributor?

piggyback. I also had some other ideas too if the proc isn't maxed out already like I think it is.

run hi-res and dual table (wonder if I will oneday be able to mod for tri-table for some unknown reason?)

hi res cause the 550's are kinda biggish

dual table for staged injection.

I don't think I would be able to run both mods though. I will have to go with one or the other. do you think it would be best to use dual table to do staged, or to run hi-res and just have them all on one bank? If that will even work? If I could do the hi-res then I would have 1 free I/O to do with what I pleased. I was thinkning I might do the E-boost controller mod, but that requires dual table which I probably won't have room for. Didn't I hear somewhere that someone was trying to page some of the code to flash so that it wouldn't use so much space? If that could be done then you could run BOTH codes. that would be nice.

2.2, I spent a little over 100$$. they were able to reduce the price of parts from digi-key somehow... so I spent 50+s&h on the partial kit, and under 50$+s&h for the digikey parts. You save nearly 10$ with the new order form(the old one was about 56$ no s&h). I didn't order a case... I am thinking about making my own for aesthetics. but you will need that too if you don't want to make one.

I have mine 90% installed. Just never can find time to finish it out. That's pretty bad since I just lost my job and STILL can't find time to finish it .....

Megabump : )

Go in the MegaSquirt section of the forum and look for muythaibxr (you can just PM him). He will hook you up. Also, DIYAuto.com should have kits that muythaibxr helped develop.

I used to work with muythaibxr on the S4 PnP units a while back.

There was a reason we didn't get PnP S5 units... We didn't have a way to control the S5 electronic OMP on the MS1... I think there should be enough outputs on the MS3. I don't know if anyone's integrated a stepper motor controller and feedback sensor interpreter with the MS though.

They should really, it's been one of the things stopping me from getting a nice PnP unit for the S5.
