so what exact setup do you have to get that much lock slava dude?

I simply have stock rods + spacers.. but I have uras rods sat here ready to go on and mazdatrix steering kit inthe post... I think uras rods + spacers wont work looking at the thread.

chance post that picture you took today

i have TWO pairs of mazdatrix rack spacers on it and Parts Shop Max Knuckles, and some ghetto tie rod cutting and ****

right now i dont really know how much angle the cars capable of with this setup since its hitting the lca. the lower offset wheels i have, the more angle i get, until i finally see where it maxes out. or do custom lca, and chance was tellin me about this ball joint spacer mod that might work too

another easier way to clear the lca, if your wheels arent low offset enough is just get spacers.. Just slap on 30mm spacers, and max the camber, and rollfenders.. will make the car have its full potential steering angle..

I was thinking that. Surely two spacers, plus max angle knuckles and cut tie rods = over center or somekind of dangerous fail.....

my mazdatrix kit has just showed up at my local postal office but im yet to collect it.. Im going tomorrow and then will install it. My thoughts being does the spacer go int the rack, then the rod into the spacer... OR is it at the other end.. between the tie rod and the new heim joint jobbie.

probably easy question but without the kit here and lookin at the car I just want to be clear.

It goes between the rack and the tie rod. Basically all it does is relocate the steering rack bump stops outward so the rack has more lateral movement.

BTW, the spacers have bump stops machined into them so it's imposible to use a pair of them. Even if you machined the bump stop out of the inner pair the rack would run out of teeth before you could take advantage of the extra lateral movement.

No wonder you had to cut the inners so much to remove toe out.

yea. this is why...

when i got my first pair of spacers on, i had to cut tie rods cuz i had all this toe out. then once i installed the knuckles, i had a lot of toe in. i had a extra pair of spacers so i just threw those on, cuz i didnt want to buy new tie rods and wait. so then i had toe out again, so i had to cut more.

ghetto, but it works great

Yall do know knuckles dont mean:backwards entries and deep angle automatically right?

To use that much angle you need power and skill.

I have neither.

aren't you ls1 swapped?

Throw twin 60-1's on that bitch. Power problem solved.

B/C i lack skill (obviously) i'm just going with the tie rod/bump steer kit. I dont feel like ******* with all that other noise yet anyway.... Keeping it simple.

Slava's **** is rediculous. PICS OF YOUR SETUP NOW! Crawl under that **** and snap shots of your hack and slash combo!

I know justin used to run 2 stacked steering spacers, and he was pretty stoked by the loads more angle knuckles gave him.

Pretty simple. To get the most angle get some knuckles.

haha thats a bit vague...

ok old setup:

rack -> 6mm spacer -> stock tie rods -> stock ends (applies to both sides)

new setup:

A - rack -> mazdatrix spacer -> uras rods -> mazdatrix ends
OOOOOOORRRR
B - rack -> uras rods -> mazdatrix spacers -> mazdatrix ends

Should hopefully be getting some modified knuckles to add to all that..
then its chassis rail bashing and LCA cutting. I've already got rid of both front and rear sway bars.

Are you asking how to set them up?? The Mazdatrix kit does not come with installation instructions?? LOL If you want to pm me your email I will try to find the Super*Now Superangle kit install instructions I send out with the kits, its the same kit but Mazdatrix is a rip off with less quality components. Its rather simple, here are the basics; you would want it set up to "A", use loc-tite on the spacer into rack and tie rod into spacer, and you need to cut the tie rods down 1cm because of the bolt-on spacer, just make sure you get a close measurement of the your old setup, replicate it to the new, so you can drive it to get it aligned.

FWIW, you are not gaining anything with the Uras inner tie rods, the spacers will add the max available from the rack, however you could have saved a bunch by going with the Secret Element Superangle tie rods; max angle built-into the tie rods ready to go, all for $100 (regularly $145).

Nah they are the same length, just designed with a little spacer built-in, its a generic rackend they use for all the makes/nodels; but with him using the bolt on spacer he needs to cut the tie rods.
