How would i measure it????? By the way thanks alot for the help its hard to figure out how to do this.
With a 10 or 11 I'd go with a 225-245 wide tire and +20ish offset.

BTW, there is a wheel/tire section, I'd post in there before you get flamed for spamming up the drift setup thread.

Cool thanks man it will be sick to have the look and ill be able to find steelys to run for driftin. I find it easyer to drift my NA with low pro tires then with stock tires. Hey you know why they say to take out the rear sway bar for driftin if your runing a NA or low hp?????

Oh and sorry guys im not trying to jack this up. My car is being built to drift and ive got awsome info from this site for what to do to my car. Thanks to all for the help :-)

I thought for sure 'they' said remove your rear swaybar when you need more grip while sliding, not when you're having troubles breaking the rear end loose. Can you find the post(s) where someone said low power?

get an s5 if your car is s5. but really, stay na until you have driven alot. also hook up your sway bar if youre having issues breaking loose. and put your coilovers on the stiffest settings. and up your tire pressure to 60+ in the rear. na will do fine with that for having fun. Would you rather have fun drifting na. or be bummed your t2 swap still needs more work while everyone is having fun drifting?

All around i just want to get out their and do it haha i do have a 89 s5 so im good to go and it does have the v-LSD when i clutch kick her she loves going sidways. I could use shocks tho. Im runing factory suspention luckly they are the adjustable ones so i can stiffin them up a bit. All out shes a fun car and i never want to sell her im starting to learn how to keep her sideways without spining out. I find more speed helps and not being on the gas hard keeps me in control.

viscous type diffs aren't great for drifting. I think the main reason is because they overheat unless you give them some cool down time. its the fluid that locks it. search up on swapping to an s4 clutch type diff, you may have to get s4 stub shafts/axles to use that diff to but I can't specifically recall. viscous will be fine for now but just an idea of something to look at in the future. you could always go crazy and get a kaaz or os giken 2 way lsd to if you got money to burn. but main thing is seat time. wait until the diff starts holding you back.

I don't recall, but if you don't have one then get a bucket seat. I have a corbaeu forza fixed back modified onto the stock rails and it works great. but any seat that will hold you in place better and let you focus more on controlling your car then hanging on. next would be coilovers. that stock auto adjusting suspension isn't great. PBM, stance, hks are the brands to look into on an entry level budget.

Im stoked people are still posting on here. Im going a backwards but i think more reliable approach of engine swap first. I've got.

Megan tracks
Recaro spg
Shimmed diff
Non-ps rack.. whooo!

Ive only done parking lot stuff so far, but i only live 15 mins from a track. Im hoping to make it to my first event in dec.

I'll admit the diff is something to get used to. My front tires are easily overcome, which leads to a not so fun understeer.

Ive also got st sway bars waiting to install. I ordered them prior to reading this whole thread... since everybody just seems to remove them. I guess ill try em out.

hey guys i need a little bit of help. ive posted about this in the official wheel fitment thread but i figured since this is a drift setup thread you guys would know more about my question

im going to put origin 20mm front fenders and 50mm rear overs on my fc. i want my tires to be tucked behind the fenders with about a 1" space between tire/fender(i just want room for rebound). my question is what offsets would i need on the front and back? also i want my fronts to be 8.5-9 wheel width, backs 9.5-10. im looking for wheels 5-6 spoke, or some concave multispokes. and will i need spacers or anything else to take into consideration? also i dont plan on cambering the back tires. but front ill have quite a bit of camber. thanks!

Cool thanks Carlos & Russ. Wasn't sure if there was a problem with an aftermarket tie rod and a modded knuckle.

oh one more thing, What is a good tire for drifting? like lots of smoke? you want a hard tire or soft treaded tire? Does width of the tire change the drifting ability?

Interesting, how do you like them? And what kind of knuckles are you running?

Just curious.

JTP knuckles + SuperNow Tie rod ends
18x9.5 +12

The rim hits the LCA when turning out and hits the frame rail when turning in. The frame rail can be hammered but I had to use a 15mm spacer to get it to clear the LCA. So 18x9.5 -3 (or a narrower wheel with the equivalent inner clearance) would be the bare minimum you need to run this setup. Im sure extended ball joints would help too but i dont know how much

hmm. I have 18x9.5 +4 with custom knuckle and extended balljoints and junk. I still hit pretty hardcore. I might need to run a spacer.

this is all so inspiritional. lol. i just got my fc about 3 weeks ago and im just starting my drift build on it. ifrst thing(due to my blown *** shocks and tein lowering springs) are going to be coilovers. i was looking into the ISIS coilovers. ive heard really good reviews about them on drifting.com, but thats ONLY for FC's. fd's and s-chassis owners are saying theyre terrible but i have only heard really good about them for the fc. any input?

i know nothing about ISIS coilovers but i doubt the strut itself is much different than the FD or S chassis. Just a thought
