Buckey's Pro-Am Build: '87 Mazda RX7 TurboII
i have a half gallon of black leftover from the last paintjob. so i'm going to order another half gallon, and spray it up. this time im actually going to prime it (even though it turned out like glass last time) because i hate that the door placard stickers took all the paint off on my one door. lol
i've been sucking with keeping this thread up to date. i got the E6k. using GM 3 bar map, IAT, Haltech Grey Series TPS.
8way strobes. new HIDs. New wheels. New aero. New errythang. i'll try to bring all the photos over from vegas rotary.
PS: how's your car coming? are you doing XDC AZ???

MAD UPDATES.

had to repaint the block off plates a different color due to them flaking apart... used the same base coat as some other things i recently painted, and it was just no good...

made gaskets, RTV'd everything up neatly and bought some 880cc injectors to run as secondaries until i get the haltech tuned for 880/1200 setup.

removed/welded the twin scroll on the stock S4 turbo.

picked up my shimmed 1.5 way LSD shimmed with MazdaSpeed friction rings/fresh redline LSD oil courtesy of dan's driveline and assembled it into a newer subframe, and LCA's. had to repair the insane amount of chassis damage from the diff pickup studs being bent to the left from crashing.

waiting to get a shipment in hopefully today from Dstroyr, along with the new walbro, oil cooler, and -AN fittings. more photos coming soon.
pro-am's are going down. bringing my A game this year. none of this shitty setup, no tires bullshit.
backwards angle, legit drivetrain + full TII backup drivetrain, more power/reliability + rev limiter will be hard to compete with this year.
All or Nothing!
fresh 08 trailblazer LS2 GM 3 bar map & oil feed line. $100 worth of **** here.....
Finally finished prepping, & started laying paint on the interior/cage.

base coat on cage:

more to come. times running out.
removed the secondary butterflies in the TII Throttle body. waiting for it to be welded up so i can finish building the intakes back up. going to mount the LIM tonight and HOPEFULLY all the haltech clips will be in this week so i can drop them off to get installed.

to those of you who bitch about not having the ability to work on your car, all this is being done in front of my apt.....
if you guys are wondering whats going on with the stock turbo, basically i've been running around, researching setups before just diving into a 35r, and hoping for the best. instead of buying a good turbo, i bought another TurboII parts car to have full backup drivetrain parts/motor to build on the side (pin/port/wpc) and prep that motor for power as the current one in my car is stock port, not pinned, just has good seals. instead of straight wasting a motor, i figured it be best to have backup parts to have the piece of mind to not drive conservatively this year in fear of breaking things.
going to have one of the best tuners in the US watch over/maintain my motor setup for the pro-am rounds, and hopefully this year we'll be able to seal the deal and take home an FD license to drive the full FD series next year. big things to come for sure. i really want to thank everyone who's stuck by my side, and helped out whether it be advice, or moral support.

yeah street apt workings in vegas is kush compared to us guys that have to deal with blizzards 5 months of the year.
looks really good. was wondering why so many FB posts of "geotta get up early have my bowl of cer... er.. working on the fc late on no sleep".

vegas gets pretty cold, you'd be surprised. a winter in indiana was pretty much equal to vegas in winter minus the snow. it rains a **** load during winter, and worst of all is the wind. the wind chill really screws days up out here. it's not like Cali or florida where it's a constant 70* out.

Well, I guess we all look dumb sometimes.. On the working note. The earthquake Japan had was easier on their roads than one ******* month of a Michigan winter. We get things called frost heaves, they are comparable to an actual speed bump. Except they are randomly on an interstate. Ever jump an FC?

Xdc phx? Maybe by the end of the year. Just need a pipe bender...
But yea my car is going to be a beast, its ridiculous
i hope this year is the one.
nope. figured if it's not broke, why fix it? still have DTSS from the factory and all. the car seems setup. just needed like 50 more whp. stock turbo was throwing down with 400whp v8's and SR's.
i really like not breaking tranny's, driveshafts, and stub shafts. everyone i know with solid mounts grenades ****. i guess the little bit of give either helps lessen it, or the no power thing played a major role (50/50 both)
we'll see how it pans out.

smooth as glass

Cage is finally done after a few days. took my time, and did everything the RIGHT way.
now the fun part begins. let it dry over night/tomorrow, and start masking it off to paint the interior. not looking forward to it, but the outcome will be way worth it. i hope i dont have to do this again anytime soon.

mine too. thats more or less what my statement about working on it at my apt was directed towards. not so much the "workspace" aspect.
i keep getting tow notices on it about 1 a month. tow truck dudes dont want to mess with something on blocks especially when i stay up pretty much 24/7
my apt complex has been getting more understanding though. the neighbors are all about it. my landlord sees it go from shitty to fresh aero/wheels/paint all the time so he knows it's not going to stay permanently battled. normal people get boggled when seeing a car smashed up turn back into a new car again. i've actually made money off neighbors for wrenching on their crap. lol
Looking forward to seeing htis thing all together!

bank account is dwindling down
as is the need for more parts to get it finished. it's almost there. waiting on Haltech Grey series TPS, and IAT. tuning going down on the 10th.
mounting aero, prepping for exterior paint, and tube chassis going down this weekend. FOR SURE. sick of waiting.
