Buckey's Pro-Am Build: '87 Mazda RX7 TurboII

sick, thanks! i appreciate the support. hopefully i can get my act together, and get the re-vamp going sometime before new years.. i'm slacking... it being in pieces kinda blows... haha
a little update:
A week or so ago Wayne Raqueno of XDC, and Alex Lopez of AZdriven and driftoutlet approached me with ideas of doing a driver interview of my experience at XDC Arizona. The staff at AZdriven had a nightmare tracking down photos for it, due to me not being on track as much as i would've liked (learning how to manhandle a tire machine to mount tires lol) somehow they tracked some down, and made this all happen!
great group of people out there, and the event is summarized in the link! check it out, and leave a comment!

I just read/skimmed the whole thread. I love it. I've always been fascinated by drift builds. I may pick up drifting in the future, but I'm way too poor for that right now. lol
I was browsing the SE classifieds and found this.

Keep up the good work and good luck getting everything going again.

so there really haven't been any updates... i sold a bunch of stuff to help fund the new car.
but i threw it all back together out of borrowed parts to drive the Get Nutz Drift Demo @ Forrest's shop, and decided the black car should have one last missile party before i transfer chassis. having said that i'll just post photos.

tons of line locks.... tandom reverse burnouts, and doing donuts and INTENTIONALLY spinning the quarter panel into the krails, and just sitting there burning tires was the most hilarious **** i've done with this car.
RIP Turbo-II... eventually it will be rebirthed into a missile car but for now i'm going back to the fashion show for XDC.

an REW over the TII isn't going to get you much noticable gains, just more headache getting it mounted into the FC. doing a larger turbo/upgrading the fuel system and the powerFC is where you should be aiming first.
if there was more rotary work in this town perhaps there could be some sponsorship but as of now work is just about dead here still.

I think I'm the only one stupid enough in Utah that wants to drift with a rotary ... and I'm perfectly fine with that.
More than likely coming down to LV to get tuned once the $$$ rolls in this spring.

The RE-W idea was merely that. after getting advice on doing the RE swap, and others i really dedicated some time to being less of a noob, and actually researching for a few weeks and have come to the realization that building my motor is best for now, so it's cheaper. i already have the motor/trans, and if it blows ill worry about it then. even if it does blow i'll atleast be 90% cheaper in the long run.

spring time is when everyone's ballin' i hate winter. it's slow. work is slow.
i havent had any customer work spraying in a few months... havent really tried either...
seriously though i do want to come up there and hangout with some friends like mid january/early FEB. if my car's done, and there's an event i may bring it up.

Trust me man, I know all about that. Car sales are super slow right now, and I hate brushing off an entire lot of cars every morning.
We'll be having events at Miller, as soon as I find out when in Feb we're planning I'll let you know.

sales is always really hard... that's like all i've been doing the passed few months trying to stay afloat since there are hardly any job opportunities out here atm.
flipping cars is the way to go... its much like my dad, and him playing poker though.... one day you can easily have $10k, and the next be counting change out to fill up...

strike up the paean
i know one guy with a white fc doing a 20b swap. lives in salt lake and he knows how to throw down.
he said he has never seen you drift an fc but did mention that you tumbled a VW into a forest once.

I guess Derek didn't mention the other guy out here with a turbo Vert that's been out about as many times as he has, and drives equally like ****.
Try to find a little sarcasm and fun in my posts, folks. The internet doesn't need to be this serious.
