Yea
well mine is in the shop getting balljoints and tierod ends
I haven't so much looked at it for I have been busy
But the previous owner had Jackson Autosport custom fabricate spacers and bolt displacements on my '85
maybe I will ask them more about it or look at it on the hoist and see if its possible just to take them off

How much are you looking for the rims?

If the spacers were done right, you should be able to take them off.

Hey cantaffordit, How have you been man? I just figured out who it was when I saw your repu post. That truck is fantastic, I remember the idle with the bridge, it sounded so mean. Its Brennan, by the way. I hope all is well and your still having a good time in calgary. Next time your in town and visiting eric or something give me a call, I still owe you quite a few beers.

Well i got the 74 13B opened up on the weekend and it doesn't look to bad I think . The rear housing has a little chrome flaking on the front side bottom but all else looks pretty good . Need to measure tolerances next weekend though .

I'm thinking of taking everything over to custom crankshaft for a bath and cleaning and maybe lapping of the irons . Any other suggestions ?

the flaking on the housing doesnt look good. That wont likely make very good compression if u reuse that. The irons look not bad, check the step wear to see if it is in spec for lapping. the old irons have a lot of meat but not alot of nitriding if any at all left. if u are goingto rebuild it use newer 13b rotors, lighter and higher compression, just match your counterweights. I cant see your bearings but i would change them anyway.

If i go with later model rotors , would the 89-91 NA be the best ? Assuming you mean the main bearings , or also the rotor bearings ?

all the bearings, rotros and stationary gears. Renesis rotors are the lightest and highest compression, s5 would be the second lightest and second highest compression. Just match the crankshaft and counterweights to the rotors. or you can have your rotors lightened and balanced but compression will stay the same. I dont know if JHB performance still offers the service to fill the tubs on the rotors to raise compression.

racing beats lightened rotary assemblies are the lightest, based off the rensesis, if I had the money when I have to rebuild my engine I would be picking them up.

Its been a long cold december and january in the peg, so I made some progress on the '79 model .

Here is what Ive got so far . The interior turned out nice , complete with felt carpet and two tone door panels and seats, console and dash trim . The engine has black irons and aluminum color housings . The undercarriage is black with aluminum driveshaft etc. , also blue shocks ( tokico) . The exterior paint is metallic charcoal that is a Honda rattle can from canadian tire and clear coat that closely matches the 79 Mazda paint code "Beat Black".

I am working on the rear defroster and rear tint and first attempt turned out pretty good . I cut thin strips of orange translucent "post it " notes from zellers and they have enough glue to stick to the inside of the winshield . I am going to try again with all thin lines. Fot the rear tinti I am going to try painting some saran wrap and sticking that to the inside . It works unpainted , we'll see if the paint screws it up.

I may try a wax and buff on the paint this weekend too , since the real cars are all locked away.

Good to hear, Ken. I don't think this place is quiet b/c of ppl being busy. Lol. I've just been patiently waiting for this snow to go away so i can finally work on my FB.

When is everybody bringing their cars out? I'm thinking of planning a meet for the end of april or beginning of may. Post up in here which month would suit you guys better.

Mazda Meet, May 24.

So i decided to finalize a date and time for the first Mazda meet of 2009.

WHERE: Assiniboine Park Zoo lot (in the park).
WHAT: Mazda Meet, Speedworld afterward.
WHEN: 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 24, 2009.

This is a general Mazda meet for all ya Mazda-holics. The streets should be swept by then so you guys have NO REASON to not show up. Lol.

The original thread can be found here:
WinnipegHeights

I'll cross post any important info from that thread onto here if needed. This is two months away so you guys should have NO reason not to show. Lol.

Ken, i look forward to seeing your FB there. Would it be too much to ask for a ride in it? I've never been in a completely stock FB before, except for a GSL-SE. Lol.

Changes regarding the meet!!!

So we've decided to make some changes to the May 24 meet.

Changes to be made:
-Starts at 5 instead of 6.
-Having a BBQ (instead of Speedworld).
-Meet at the zoo and then cruise to the site (still to be decided).

PS: I would prefer ppl pitch in a dollar or two if they are going to eat. You'll just have to pay once but you gotta make sure everybody has a chance to have some before getting more. Hahaha.

PLEASE GO TO WpgHeights May 24 Mazda Meet Thread to get all the details.

Sorry if this is confusing. That's why it's 2 months away. Lol.

Revised Meeting Plans.

Sorry for all the changes and any confusion. Here is how the meet is laid out.

WHERE: Assiniboine Park Zoo lot (in the park).
WHAT: Mazda Meet, and BBQ.
WHEN: 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 24, 2009.

This is a general Mazda meet for all ya Mazda-holics. The streets should be swept by then so you guys have NO REASON to not show up. Lol.

After meeting in the zoo lot, we will cruise the park and find a suitable BBQ location.
