Took the FD out last night for the first time this season, felt good with the upgraded turbo and new suspension. Getting the fenders rolled today, fronts were rubbing bad on the driver side. The suspension lowered the front more than I like, but should be able to fix the issue.

Is there a good place around here to look for parts at all? Cause I know back in Edmonton there was this Conroy guy who always had about 7 different parts cars. Is there something like that out here?

Hey & Welcome.
Hello there. I have a Pearl White 1982 RX7-GX, wide body Mariah Mode I kit, with a modified 13B-6 Street Ported engine swaped in for the original 12A, mated to a 44mm Mikuni side draft carb. Yep, it's a NA. Still runnig fine. Uses 2 MSD 6AL Digital boxes with a weird setup to the coil - done by Boss Automotive in Calgary about 20 years ago.
Presently I need to change out the Centerforce II clutch to a new one - finally worn out.
Welcome back to the 'Peg.
We should meet up. I'm about to store my car away for the upcoming freeze up.
I need to find a shop to do the clutch this coming spring. Anyone know of a good reliable shop?

Tavern United - Sunday night
I may have to stop by this Sunday. It will be the last cruise for me since I'll be putting my car away for the winter. It's supposed to be very nice. How will I recognize you all? Where do you park?

I ran into that *&^% Fred last Saturday. I went to the farmer's market and was parked on the side. The last time I saw him was when he tried to screw over my girlfriend. She had commissioned him to put together an RX7 for her son. She and he had agreed to a price that seemed fair and so he started working on it for her. After much delays and excuses from him he said it was ready. We picked it up and drove off. Well we got about 7 kms and it was not driving well at all. It would stall, wouldn't start, took forever to try to turn over and so we called him up. He would make excuse after excuse and eventually my girlfriend ended up calling MPI. They did an inspection and said that they would contact him. Sure enough MPI inspectors called him up. The safety that Fred did was 'bogus'. MPI ordered him to take it to Mazda and have it fixed to meet all the saftey requirements or they would pull his license. Well that was an experience. Never talked with him since, and wouldn't give him the time of day.
So he comes over to my car and rants at me about f*&^%$g him over and gets all nasty in my face. Well he proved one thing to me...he's nasty all the way through. I wouldn't have anything to do with him, ever.
Sorry about the rant all, but I wanted to share this with the new comers so that they are made aware of 'what's out there'. Be cautious. I will drive my car or trailer it all the way to Calgary to have it serviced. I sure as hell wouldn't be doing it here with him.
Haven't found anyone else that knows about rotaries enough, here in MB.

Well the first thing I felt was disappointment. I mean why buy a rotary based car and pull out the one thing the car is famous for and then go put a piston engine in it? The obvious thought is that people like the styling.
In my opinion, I feel it's shameful for someone to do that to such a historical car, a car that has become an icon in the world of automobiles. Every since I was 14 and say an add from Mazda about the 1st gen I said to myself that I would own one of those wankel cars. Sure enough, purchased mine brand new in the fall of 1981 (purchased a 1982 GX 1.1L ) and about 2 years later sold the 12A engine and put in a custom 13B 6 Street Ported engine. Love the Rotary.
Just my thoughts...

Interesting comment. I remember a few years ago I was stopped at an intersection and another 1st gen pulled up on my right side. The guy said he liked my can and if I would sell it. I kind of laughed and said no. He said that he was looking for another 1st gen so that he could put a small block piston engine in it, like the one he was driving.

Styling is the main reason why people buy them and also they are a poor mans corvette are they not lol. No they are great cars and light as all get out. Plus myself personally LOVE the looks of a FC or FD (FD is a lot nicer though).
