I'm sad.
Just did a quick run on the perimeter highway consisting of 4 boost runs in 3rd gear @ ~56 km/h (35mph) wide open throttle and I found:
- Primary turbocharger would boost to 0.8bar (11.76psi) and creep towards 0.9bar (13.23psi)
- 4000 RPM hits it'll drop to 0.8bar (7.35psi) and then eventually drop down to 0.3bar (4.41psi) as I get closer to the redline.
My boost gauge came with the car from Japan and makes a slight clicking noise when boost goes over 0 bar. Some people like measuring in bar others in PSI so I've included both in my findings. Anyway, it's gonna be a pain trying to diagnose this. Gonna try the Efini Y-pipe and cross my fingers and hope it's a boost leak, any other suggestions?
Oh, btw, I drive a '92 RHD FD, completely bone stock. I'm sure I have just a catback exhaust with 3" piping, it's not as loud as FD3Steve's.. After market suspension, rims, fuel smell..

Looked it up, and to anybody who's interested I'll be attempting the following:
Primary: Solid 12 psi
Secondary: 5 psi or less
One of the vacuum hoses connected to the pressure tank, pressure tank chack valve, or hose between turbo and check valve. They will come off again unless the hose is replaced or zip-tie it at both ends.

got any pics of the car? i don't know the problem though, im also a noob, well learning, but still no pro
mine boosts at .46 bar for first an second turbo, there is like less than a second of lag when it goes down to like .35
where did you convert bars to psi?

From AverageJoe's link one page back. You'll see this car on the street a few times since I'm kinda using it as DD with my scooter.
I was using 14.7 when the real number should've been 14.5. Multiply your bar by 14.5 and that'll get you your PSI conversion, so I'm off by a couple decimal points.
Or a calculator..

O man, Marvin, I can't believe how good your car looks when photographed. There is no way you can tell that the front end is kind of fubar looking. Lol.
street racer 71: what mazda meet did you go too? I don't recall there ever being a meet before the one I went too. Unless the MMC set one up before. Btw, were you able to register on Heights?

I hear ya Maarvin. I plan on getting my car painted this winter. I'll finally have a car that looks nice. I've owned 3 cars (2 FBs) and none of them have had paint nice enough to be proud of. Lol.

nm about my last post, I chose to send it back, because I knew nobody would want to buy it for that, just thought I would try. Anyways, I setup an appointment with walls rod and custom but they pushed me back 2 weeks, and I was wondering if anybody here knew of a good place to take it in winnipeg, just to install a air fuel gauge and a couple other gauges it would also be good to have a dyno but if the shop you guys know of doesnt no big deal

Mazda Meet, Saturday Sept. 6
WHERE: Assiniboine Park, Zoo parking lot (IN THE PARK!!).
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 6
TIME: 6pm
All Mazdas are welcomed. We'll meet at the park and hangout for at least an hour. We will then cruise down to Speedworld and do some go-karting. If you miss us at the park you can always check Speedworld for a group of Mazdas parked outside.
Speedworld race cost:
1 race = $12. 4 races = $38.
Speedworld: Google Maps
All changes will be posted in this thread on Heights: Mazda Meet
The odds of any changes occurring are slim and all relevant info will be copied to this thread.

You can't look at heights as a guest? Thats weird.
So far everyone on heights is saying they can come so everything seems to be a go. That thread has also been cross posted to the Manitoba Mazda Club website.
MMC Thread
Even if your Mazda can't make it you can always bring something else. You just can't park with the Mazdas.
