Reconsidering my plan. There is so much I want to do. Phil posted a link of a route (see link below) he wanted to do on friday morning (I can't find the thread) but that is a ton of driving and we don't have the cabin till friday night. I could just as easy do this cruise on monday as I will be staying in the cabin sunday night after the mitty. I also would have to leave my house at 1am wednesday in the morning or something and cut through toronto etc just to be in cincinnati by noon. I was only going to cincinnati to pick up some parts but in reality its easier to ship them. I will finalize my plan the weekend before.

So it's looking like the Rx-4 isn't going to make the trip. The only way it could is if my parts from racing beat arrive soon and I suffer the entire drive with the stock 4 speed transmission. Removed the 5 speed I installed last night only to find a piece of the synchro stuck to the magnet of the drain plug, and my release bearing seized stiff..... The good news is the TII is ready to step in for the trip.

I'm having problems with either A) my wheels, B) wheel spacers or C) the hubs. Had my front wheels bolted up and gave them a spin and both are wobbling. Have to go buy a straight edge and check the surfaces of each. Might just need to be torqued but I think the surface of the hubs isn't perfectly flat. After that I just have to wire up the ignition and figure out the fuel pump wiring and get an alignment. Dyno time can wait until after.

Well I've got to find a bumper sticker that reads "My other car is an Austin 1100" now.

Well this sucks. Looks like I won't be able to get the car ready in time. The brake caliper have the threads stripped and replacements are hard to come by. Also wasn't able to get any work done this weekend since the weather was so shitty. %99.9999etc sure I'm not going to NC.

That's the plan. Just going to go ahead and do the TII front brake upgrade now and then I'll only have to do the rears before DGRR.

I have a full set of new GSL-SE calipers just sitting around. I bought them to do the upgrade on the Rx-4. Would that help you out Chris?

Ok time to make plans. Full list of the caravan and phone numbers and FRS settings etc.

I will be leaving with the group (BUGGY) on thursday morning. Please MR BUGGY lets plan to leave early.

I've decided to ship my EMS instead of picking it up as the logistics of picking it up was an inconvience to me It would add two more nights of stay and I am offically calling Bankrupt

Quick question, my passport expires in October, someone told me they dont like letting people through who have passports expiring within 6 months...do you think I'll be alright?

Also, I'm down for meeting with you Ian and Buggy on Thursday morning. Let me know when and where.
Buggy, are you planning on coming through KW to get to the 401?

As long as you have a valid passport you shouldn't have any problems.

I was game for meeting at that Tim Hortons in Windsor that Chris had suggested. I just got thinking I may drive to KW the night before and spend the night at a friends house. Then leave bright and early the next morning. What time did you guys want to leave Windsor?

Is 11am a good time to meet in Windsor? If that is too early I'd be game for 12ish too. If I take the Rx-4 I won't want to drive a lot in one day. The 4 speed on the interstates will suck the life right from me.

Good idea!

Its the worst when you get to the boarder and they ask you where your going and you dont remember the exact place.....then they really start asking questions to try and trip you up.

Excellent idea on the checklist.
Depending on your vanity (it is a car meet) you might want a few car cleaning supplies.
In addition to the tools, I try to bring a few cheap/easy to replace parts that can be fixed easily in a parking lot with basic tools, but can ruin your trip. (i.e. spare accessory belts.)
Also, before you leave, you should check fluid levels, tire pressures, wheel lug torque etc. Basic pre-road trip stuff.

Getting kind of excited. With our longer trip, we leave in just 5 days.

Still have a few spare beds (great room/games room section of the cabin has 4 bunks in it) if anybody is stuck, but, if you are trailering I doubt you can get up the little road into the gated community we are in (discussed that with Terrh) and we are down the road a few miles from party central so not ideal if that's your thing.

When are you arriving? Would there be a room for thursday night? Our cabin is not ready till friday. As an option I was thinking it would be nice to arrive early this year. I am all over the place this year!

Knocking on wood for no mechanical issues we hope to arrive between 6 and 7 Thursday night. Our cabin is booked Thurs night through Sunday night (we're heading home Monday morning.)

The cabin officially sleeps 13 as I recall (2 bedrooms, and then the games/great room has 2 queen size bunks and 2 double size bunks plus some random futons.) Currently there is my girlfriend and I in one bedroom, CorgiSteve in another bedroom, and HalifaxFD decided to get his own cabin down the road. A US person I know might be taking a bed for Fri/Sat night, but that's not 100% yet.

You can see the bunk setup on the interior pictures on the website for the cabin:
