Yeah, great meet. Thanks again to everyone who could make it and brought food and bevs--- and the all-important gas barbecue.

Both the front and back yards were filled with 7s... and one Skyline. (Certain boingers we make exceptions for and this was just such a vehicle. Another was highwayinthesky with his Chevy Spectrum--- because he brought the bbq).

Also present was RotorHP from Red Deer in his pristine Montego Blue FD, along with a few of his friends in a 240SX. (Ok, yet another boinger. But since they were friends of Scott we welcomed them with opened beers).

Shauno of course was given front-row-center parking for his silver FD, a machine that swallows Mustangs whole every day for breakfast.

There were five 1st gens (six if you include the donor car currently being stripped for parts in my garage)--- two GSLs (ours) and three GSL-SEs: Gary's supercharged SE monster, Felgar's very nice charcoal grey SE and a showroom-condition, original-paint, low-mileage white SE that I would have been very happy to fit someone with a pair of cement shoes to acquire. (Just kidding Aaron, you lucky bastard. Excellent find and enjoy your ride).

There were also no less than six FDs and at least that many FCs. (Is it my imagination or are there becoming almost as many cars with right-hand drive as L.H.D. showing up at these meets?)

All told, there were somewhere on the order of twenty 7s and 30 people here today. The barbecue only set off the smoke detectors twice, the dog only escaped twice and nobody got food-poisoning. And Scott got most of it on film. Not bad at all.

In the process of uploading a bunch of high-res pics to a gallery script I also just setup on one of my websites. I'll post a thread about it shortly and link from here.

Tons of fun, thanks to Aviator and everyone that showed / helped set up / brought stuff, especially the guy with the BBQ, thanks!

Oh yeah, and sorry for burnin' up your lawn man!

You've got a sickly fast FD man.

Me and Gary had an interesting experience on the way home. Had to do a little patch job on a faulty electronic system, which resulted in me having to get out and push as usual. But all in all we made it home safe.

The battery died since the alternator wouldn't put out (kinda like Seans girlfriends) but I was on a hill (we could'a just rolled) but it was entertaining to have him push again. All I had to do was yell, "PUSH BITCH" and we were running in a second (he knows his place).

Great meet, nice to see lots of 7's of all gens out, and nice to get to meet and chat with more of the local enthusiasts (and we'll count Red Deer as local for our purposes). Thanks again to Brett and Tiana (sorry if I misspell) for hosting. Had a really nice drive back on the twisty secondary highways up thru Millarville and Bragg Creek - couple of sport bikes ahead of me set a nice pace to follow Was a little surprised to see a mountie cruiser coming back the other way (but happily spotted him in time to drop to near legal speed) - maybe a response the cruise group that went thru earlier - lol.

I want the video of all of us taking off from the highway shoulder on the way out... I think there were 10 of us or so. I forget who even took it...

Once again thanks to Brett for doing such a great job hosting. Was a fine sight having 8 RX's in the back yard alone!

The meet was great and good to get to see what is out there...seems I never bump into anyone on the streets - the ride home with the Red Deer boys was good but that mountie was already busy with a Z4 - the raod was busy for us so not much we could do but just cruise through...

thanks again to the hosts - great place

hopefully there will be another one before the end of season

later

Hopefully there is one RIGHT AWAY! As you guys were out eating and laughing, i was test driving my new FD, so i'd like to show it off.

BTW, i saw the tour of rx's by Canadian tire on richmond and sarcee, nearly dropped a brick in my shorts, it was an awesome sight.

Congrats Crymson! ShaunO mentioned to us that you thought you'd probably found the one. Good to see another RX that will be well-cared-for.

I'm in the process of setting up a script that will allow people to upload high-res pics / videos to one of my servers if they PM me for a password. Should all be up tonight.

Crymson, we'll have to go for a drive as soon as you find time.

LikeaDrug, I'll be watching for those pics. I wasn't smart enough to take any myself.

Here are pics from my phone of Bretts garage and yard. Low resolution, but it's a start.

No problem, A. On the other hand (since you're in such an apologetic mood), what's the name again and phone number of that computer service center you mentioned? In the next couple of weeks or so I'd like to bring mine in.

I almost forgot--- somebody inadvertently left a copy of both the Chilton's Mazda manual and the '86 to '91 Haynes RX7 manual (and a can of mosquito repellant) on my dining room table. If they're yours pm me and we'll set up a time to come and get them.

Sweet. I want to make the vid in high quality since i will probably make a dvd of it as well. I dont know how much good vid I got however....the road kinda sucked to get some good rolling rx footage(except for me since I got to play on hwy 2 a bit)but i'll look tonight when I get it on the computer.

The meet was cool. Those roads are nice for a cruise, but I can just imagine how fun they could be without all that traffic....next time. Thanks to everyone for chipping in and Thanks to Brett and Tiana for being great hosts. Hey Brett, try not to burn the crap out of those burgers next time!

Scott

I watched the grill like a hawk so my burger would be nice and un-burnt juicy.

The manuals were up for grabs. I belive Shaun dropped them off for who-ever needed them. They were taking up space on his magazine rack.

Bug Spray is Chev's, who had to leave in such a hurry, he never said goodbye. The bastard.
