Hope you all have a good time!
Take some pics and post 'em up.
I cannot make the meet as I will be in London UK on the weekend. Argghh.
That means no quesadillas.

That sucks... I was looking forward to seeing you bbq those quesadillas... and I like your car.

BTW I will be coming from the north so I will meet up with the Country Hills group. See ya before 11! And I will bring my dvd camcorder too. Maybe we can conglomerate some of the footage and make up a vid so then everyone has their car in it?

lol... this was a joking dig... im jealous of both and would not care which one i would want more glad to see i ruffled ed's feathers though!

So there's been some wedding cake mixups, which means that the chance of the good potato salad is pretty low. I think Sobey's is ok but not great... So assuming that the good stuff is a no-go, what should I bring? I guess I'll buy some potato salad to bring but maybe bring some other stuff too. If anyone has time, could you go through the thread and catalog what everyone's bringing in comparison to Aviator's original list requirements? Then I'll be able to fill in any gaps...

Also it should be taken into consideration how many people are showing up so that people have a good idea of the quantity of stuff to bring... What are we at, about 20 at this point?

I'm hoping to have the BBQ set up by 1pm-ish, but that depends on when it arrives. I'd say anywhere between 1pm and 2pm is a good arrival time--- it gives those meeting up in Calgary around 11am a chance to coordinate and to shoot the breeze for an hour or so and then the drive to Black Diamond should take the better part of another hour after that.

I just scrolled through the thread to compile a list of who intends to bring what, and here's what I found:

84stock--- paddies and buns. (Is that the buns for both the paddies and weiners, or only for the paddies?)

Nubian--- Salad and possibly a back-up source for a bbq.

NCLBNY--- Weiners and bevs.

Dark Mephisto--- chips and pop. (also mentioned beer in an earlier post on the thread. Is that info still in effect?)

highwayinthesky--- BBQ(!) and fuel. Do you also have the bbq utensils?

Archangels--- Ice.

MINT85gsl-se---Bevs and salad.

Felgar--- Potato salad.

Alak--- Table + 2 cases of 7UP. (I'll have to swing by with the truck in the morning to pick up your table).

likeadrug--- Beer.

Goldenchild--- Beer.

Brett and Tiana (that's us, the hosts)--- paper plates, plastic utensils, cheese slices, salad dressing, ketchup, mustard, relish, napkins and bevs.

If anybody on this list wants to change or delete an item, or if you find that you can't make it to the bbq could you pm me and let me know?

One more cause for concern: I'm sure most of us are mature enough not to **** in our own back yard, ie: squeal tires and do burnouts in any of our own respective neighbourhoods. But for those who are thinking about it, puh-LEEEZE don't do this here. My neighbours are ok so far but at least a couple of them are **** enough to call the cops, and in small towns like Black Diamond the police have all the time in the world to vigorously prosecute noise violators, litter bugs, speeders going 5k over the limit, those guilty of smiling and other hardened criminals of that ilk. Burnouts are fun, but let's save them for an appropriate location--- like right in front of a bunch of guys at a Mustang meet.

awwwww mann, no burnouts??? Next thing Brett gonna ask all loud cars to park a block away (LOL). I'm still in! No guarantee on the burn out though. Anyone coming through or near Longview should know they have frequent RCMP radar there (my old boss lives there). Brett, can I substitute a burnout for a couple donuts in your back yard instead???

Instead of doing them in front of a mustang meet as Brett suggested, perhaps in front of a honda meet since there cars can't do them anyway.

No burnout is no problem for me I have to save the little tire i have left for my track day on july 4th, and i do agree it is just respectful for us to try and be as quite in your neighborhood as an rx7 can possibly be. (i have no cats and a 3inch from turbo back). oh and I guess I will bring buns for the weiners as well just incase.

Uh, sure Gary--- but get them from Tim Hortons. Crispy Creme is over-rated.

Hey brett, what time you wanna pop by tomorrow? If it starts at 1, I think you should aim to be at my house around noon? Not unless you need help with setup before hand, like moving heavy objects around the yard?

Let me know.

Old, hard tires (~7yr old Eagle RS-As in my case) can make even under powered cars seem like over-powered beasts. Last weekend I did the Evolution performance driving school, and did it on my street tires rather than use up my competition Kumho 710s on a non-competion event. I was breaking the tail loose with wheel spin in 2nd, and burning rubber nearly all the way around the course, with lots of fun (but not very fast) powerslides thru the tight bits. I was told it looked like Dukes of Hazzard material
Back to the thread topic - nothing is really jumping out at me as glaringly missing - any suggestions anyone for what might still be needed? I probably can't get there until 2:30-3:00ish, so nothing that is needed right off the bat obviously. Are the burgers and dogs looked after in sufficient quantities? Maybe I could bring a case of Coke? I only see 7-up so far in terms of soft drinks.

I was thinking more like 11am if that works for you. Just in case here are any unforseen traffic snarls.

Come to think of it, I do need a hand moving a computer desk out of the garage and into the den. (this frees up that much more room in the garage). For two of us it should be a snap--- tilt it onto the back of the truck, drive truck around front and back up to front door, then the two of us can just slide it down the steps to the den.

Everything else related to the bbq is light-weight stuff: move bbq onto deck, set up table and chairs on deck, prep condiments and bevs and then wait for the cavalry to arrive with the grub.

Shine up your RX-7's real nice because I might send a couple photos into RXtuner. I might be able to pull a couple of strings if you know what I mean.

I have a few friends tagging along with me to make my drive more enjoyable....since I am driving from Red Deer all the way to black diamond then back home. Just think of the guys in the 240 as the camera car. I will probably want to head out by about 4ish just so I can get home at a decent hour. See you guys tomorrow
