It might be a good idea to post a map of the Calgary area that incudes Black Diamond. That way you could highlight the intended routes and rendezvous points so that those not familiar with the area don't become even more confused.

Should anybody be concerned that they may still have trouble finding the BBQ you can pm me for my home phone number. That way, if you do get lost just call here and I'll direct you via phone.

 

Tiana and I will be supplying the basic salad dressings (Italian, French, Thousand Isles, ranch, Ceasar, etc).

If someone wants to bring a basic tossed (or other green) salad we'll make sure there's dressing.

No, it's in the south west. If you take Glenmore west it eventually curls north and becomes Sarcee Trail. There is a mall on the west side and the theatre is in there.

 

Westhills cinema, west of Sarcee trail (CFCN hill) off Richmond Road SW. Take Glenmore west to richmond Rd, then go west and it's on your left. Or for others, take Crowchild to richmond Rd, the west across Sarcee and again it'll be on your left.

My camera is &*%$ed so I can't film anything. If anyone has a Camcorder they are willing to part with for a couple hours, that would be great.


On a side note, I can now finally buy another camcorder to replaced this DVD-RAM peice of crap.

 

I looked on google earth and found what they still call Silver City on Country hills Blvd. If thats the right one then I can make it there no prob. The only hitch is that I might be going to Banff this weekend(saturday anyway) so I might be showing up from a different direction.... i'll keep you guys posted.

 

Yep thats the one. But it would be way faster for you to come into the city and head South on Sarcee, meeting up with the Southerners directly at Westhills, if you're coming from Banff. Like, 90 minutes faster.

 

I carry an Exilim Z750 with me all day, every day. It can record about an hour and a half of almost-tv quality video and I'll let whoever wants to play with it.

And yeah, I'll do the nice little drive up north (for me), just to make a scene in the parking lot at silver city with everyone else :p

 

I dont usually do much at these functions except film and stand around, while filming. And eat. Sometimes I open my yap.

Back on topic, I'd like to propose going Country Hills -> Shaganappi -> Crowchild for the route to Westhills. It's 2 lanes most of the way which makes for better pack driving, rather than 24th Ave and getting stuck trying to turn left. What dya think Gary? (yeah there's still the left onto Shaganappi but that's a longer light I'd say)

 

turning left onto shaganappi from country hills would be better it's a rather long light plus if anything we could coast on the shoulder till everyone showed back up....

or be obnoxious and "hazard" it....
