Good to hear... No questions asked about the handbrake? I'm just gonna try it with a hydraulic one in cabin... Easier. Hope they are not aware of the rules, or just not paying attention... And ofcoarse no steekproef.

No questions..
but you have to know it, or look very closely to even find out it is hydraulic.
The lever pull feels just like stock.
the way i adjusted it isn't as agressive as you would expect for hydraulic.
The converter is tucked away under a cover near the diff and i painted all new brakelines so they wouldn't stand out too much.

The car looks incredible. Given that my TII is black, I'm kind of partial to black FCs now. And that is one nice black FC.

Been a while since I posted..
there has been some big things going on and found myself at a fork in the road, not sure which direction to take. however, change is uppon us!

after having several issues the last few years, having more time and money spent fixing stuff instead of actually driving. several expensive parts needed replacing, like the turbo.
i almost saw the car burn down to the ground due to a short in the wiring.

and now i had come to the point that the car does not start when cold, it floods immediately.
even tuning out fuel while cranking in the PowerFC does not help.
if i get the car to start, it idles rough and i need to let it warm up before i can even drive normally

because the engine is 21years old, and has been rebuilt over 10 years ago, i got the idea it finally has come to the point that the engine is at the end of its life..
because of the age and unknown overall mileage of the housings i figured the entire engine may be toast and there would be more involved then just a standard rebuild.

after having so many troubles already, i lost the motivation of putting yet another huge amount of money into the car, because after buying a house last year, there just isn't enough cash left to drive it as much as i'd like.
insurance and taxes eat up a big part of my car budget, driving for full 1 day a month empties the rest of that budget.
that also means i can not drive my classic 929...

i got the compression tested last week, and was somewhat surprised that it was actually not as bad as i thought.
6bar on all chambers

but driving the car again, it just feels like something is wrong
cold start is farked, and the car doesnt put down the power like it always used to.
something is off..
i didn't enjoy driving it, and was also thinking: what's next to fail?

this has lead me to the fork in the road..

the thought of converting my 929 into rotary has gone through my mind several times already, but costs have always kept me down.
with the loss of faith in the FC, this has come back to mind again..

i've been getting annoyed by electrics for quite some time, especially after the failed wiring. the pure sound of the rotary is also something i have been craving for more and more..
i have had thoughts of building a N/A motor before, but now the search for my ultimate setup has become viable.

i will be driving the FC for the remainder of the year, got some invitations to events i don't want to let down..
this winter, the car will be taken apart, some parts will be used for the rotary conversion, the other parts will be sold to create a budget.
selling the car whole is not an option here in Europe, as people do not want to put down a respectable amount of money for this car, they know they can buy an FD in de the UK for less..

i've had a lot of fun, seen many things, learned a lot and also learned some things are best to leave the way they are

plans on the 929 will be revealed soon...

I know guys, it hurts...!
Its been a tough choice, but the way i feel now after its gone, i know i made the right one...

I've just had too many setbacks and my love for the classics has grown too much to ignore. A lot of things changed in my life over the past couple of years..

The new owner is a mazda dealership and rotary enthousiast.
He has built so many cars for himself as a toy, his latest being a PP 4-rotor RX-8, i know its in the right hands.

It is pretty much a bare shell, he assured me it will be rebuilt in the future.
To what extent, he doesnt know.. maybe just a basic car with stock engine, who knows?

I will always have the memories, pictures and people who stood by me all those years, that includes you guys

The FC heart has been transplanted into the 929, which I can now call a RX-4

Also got word that my old shell has been provided with all bits and pieces and should be back on the road soon with a 250hp engine
