Yeah sucks bigtime!
Easily $2500 to get back up and running because of a fuse that costs 10cts..

Yeah was really surprised to see it ons speedhunters
Must say that i really start to love the white wheels, looks sick!

Sorry to hear mate.

But I can help but think something else is wrong here ?
My pump and controller don't pull anything near 10 or more amps when running at 100%.

I have blown the fuse one on the dyno (the 10 amp) as the car was hot already so went from 0% to 100% and blew the fuse. (as that is the situation that pulls the most current)

But I had hooked u the LED they give you in the kit if there is a fuse or power failure. I'm guessing you didn't install that bit. Or didn't see it.

The manufacturer stated that the pump draws 10A at 13,7V, and that they supply a 15a fuse.. i got a 10A fuse in the box
Hope that they will respond correctly...

Sucks to hear Furb!

Are you going to pull the motor so water doesn't sit in it?

a true rotary fanatic! nice to hear you aren't going to the darkside.
hope to have my car looking as classy as yours dude. i know i must've missed it but what were the advantages of running that weird cooling system over a modded stock one?

I will NEVER cross over to the dark side! I will make sure i own at least one rotary for the rest of my life, i love it!

Only thing is that i spent too much time on it for the last few months to finish the car for Time-Attack.
so i will take it easy from now on

With the old setup everything was way too hot for my liking.
On street: watertemp 90, oil 85-90, intake 25-30
On track: water 110, oil 110, intake 40
And everything under the hood was too hot to put your hands on even after a short drive around town, even the strut brace.

With the new setup, the intake is much shorter so throttle response is insane!
On street: water 65, oil 65, intake 16
On track: water 85, oil 90, intake 30

Now even after serious track abuse everythin under the hood is still cool to the touch!

Big difference!
But next year I will set the waterpump controller to 85 instead of 75 and add a oil thermostat to bypass the second oil cooler, as 2 is too much on the street

BNR is probably starting the turbo build within a few weeks.
and i will pressure test the cooling system this week to find out if i did indeed blow a waterseal.
If the motor needs a rebuild, i will have to figure out what i want to do with it...

In the meantime, i am just enjoying my classic Mazda

The turbo is fried and turns out i blew a waterseal. engine still starts and runs perfect but it has used 0,5L of water in 50km..

i have decided not to rebuild the car in a hurry and have it running again this year.
want to do everything right the first time and take my time and not spend every sinlge day working on the car like i did the last couple of months.

i will be back in 2012, better and stronger then ever!

ps, the v-mount setup is amazing!
intake, oil and watertemps are insane and throttle response and spool were sick.
so thats a big plus that i dont have to worry about that anymore
Damn bud sorry to hear that. Good for you for staying motivated and staying true to the wankel. I feel your frustration what comes to spending so much time on a build and for something simple to break it....would have happened on any motor.

Enjoy your time off and get busy in 2012!
By the way the car looks absolutely gorgeous man!!

Well, progress is slow

Car has not moved since March.
I just started engineering the new rear brake setup and I got my new BNR stage 4 turbo on the shelf
But i still don't know if i blew a coolant seal.
Will be installing a lift in the garage soon, so hopefully i can make some real progress then!

I bought a house this year and will be moving in next month, so thats my main priority right now
