Furb: RX-7 FC
my life's story:
The RX was for sale at a rotary specialist here in Holland in 2005. completely stock and had only run 9200km after rebuild. i was sold pretty soon and it didnt take long for me to take it home! http://94.100.114.80/343000001-34305...04_5_WOR8.jpeghttp://94.100.115.72/343000001-34305...02_5_EA3S.jpeg http://94.100.116.74/343000001-34305...98_5_AjVZ.jpeghttp://94.100.115.197/343000001-3430...05_5_fTPQ.jpeg after about a year i got into modifying it: coilovers, brakes and wheels. after that, the bodykit went on and it went to the bodyshop for a full respray. http://94.100.114.148/807900001-8079...70_5_UYom.jpeghttp://94.100.120.6/807950001-808000...02_5_FoLt.jpeg http://94.100.121.204/393100001-3931...91_5_7iIk.jpeghttp://94.100.116.175/393100001-3931...01_5_4Hu0.jpeg http://94.100.121.72/393100001-39315...97_5_ba4h.jpeghttp://94.100.116.20/92950001-930000...80_5_c8_u.jpeg |
another year later it was time to get some more juice out of the 13B!
decided to clear the entire engine bay so i could work on all the details. i looked at every part and if nescesairy, modified, replaced or relocated. removed A/C, ABS, Power steering. relocated battery and alternator and dressed up the engine with lots of aftermarket goodies. at that time, i got the car back to the bodyshop to get the engine bay painted. http://94.100.122.203/393100001-3931...56_5_zahA.jpeghttp://94.100.122.241/393100001-3931...02_5_AXX1.jpeg http://94.100.120.197/393100001-3931...44_5_NhLJ.jpeghttp://94.100.121.30/167450001-16750...69_5_1Zpk.jpeg http://94.100.116.77/393150001-39320...90_5_d1jX.jpeghttp://94.100.120.153/393150001-3932...98_5_qHVX.jpeg to cope with the power, the brakes needed another upgrade, 330mm K-sport http://94.100.116.108/393150001-3932...65_5_fBEb.jpeghttp://94.100.120.130/393150001-3932...00_5_N5Ot.jpeg then on to the dyno for mapping, wich all didnt go as hoped, but in the end i reached 305hp and 440nm at the flywheel. http://94.100.115.165/343000001-3430...83_5_ZHZD.jpeghttp://94.100.122.111/365550001-3656...88_5_UYr5.jpeg |
ofcourse, i wasn't done with the car..
another year later i had some more big plans! i got hold of a brand new S4 gearbox, and decided on some more stuff, ACT prolite flywheel, FD torsen LSD, FD UIM, FD throttle body, KG parts fuel rails and an Apexi PowerFC instead of mapping the stock ECU again. that meant i had to modify the trailing coil and wiring loom too. http://94.100.120.143/475200001-4752...51_5_voLe.jpeghttp://94.100.120.146/475200001-4752...86_5_lZxI.jpeg http://94.100.114.60/577800001-57785...78_5__ClN.jpeghttp://94.100.120.7/475250001-475300...91_5_XvR_.jpeg http://94.100.120.154/475250001-4753...40_5_Y_mO.jpeghttp://94.100.122.97/535050001-53510...63_5_6vCn.jpeg had noticed before, but now it became really clear i had some cooling issues, especially regarding oil temps. i put on a fluidyne 25x30x5cm oil cooler and made a special airtunnel to get maximum effect on oil and water. i also included ducts for brake cooling, i now have a noticable increase in braking power and durability also to help engine bay temps, i fitted a shine-auto-project "sexy-style" hood http://94.100.121.34/519900001-51995...99_5_-G99.jpeghttp://94.100.114.59/535050001-53510...61_5_swHm.jpeg http://94.100.120.201/613300001-6133...57_5_2Pyw.jpeghttp://94.100.122.72/808000001-80805...24_5_zDOL.jpeg car was mapped on the new ECU by RE-Worx in the UK http://94.100.122.147/681150001-6812...00_5_lnRU.jpeghttp://94.100.121.78/681150001-68120...50_5_phGz.jpeg power was nearly the same as before, but now it was far more smooth and throttle response is just insane! only now it became very clear the stock turbo cant keep up, because boost drops like mad after 5500rpm. that's why i was thinking about going for a BNR stage 4 upgrade, plug and play for a descent price and a big 100+hp gain. specs: Engine: FD3S upper intake manifold modified FD3S throttle body Greddy compression tube for FD3S stock Hitachi HT-18S turbocharger (ported wastegate) Forge wastegate actuator HKS SSQV Apex'i Air intake Racing beat oil baffle plate Racing Beat high pressure oil regulator Racing Beat rotor oil cap Banzai racing urethane motor mounts modified Civic EG engine damper Ignition: Greddy RE10 sparkplugs Racing Beat Spark plug leads HKS Twin Power ignition amplifier modified trailing ingition coils Exhaust: Racing Beat REVII 3inch dual exhaust custom 3inch de-cat heatwrapped downpipe Cooling: Koyo N-flo aluminium radiator Fluidyne oil cooler Flex-a-lite Black magic e-fan Racing Beat AN10 oil cooler lines Racing Beat thermal bypass pellet JT-Performance FMIC Greddy 1.3bar radiator cap custom oil catch tank custom coolant breather tank custom radiator panel custom air tunnel with brake cooling Samco red coolant hoses red intercooler hoses Fuel: KG-Parts red anodized fuel rails Walbro 255lph fuelpump Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator 550cc primary injectors 750cc secondairy injectors AN6 fuel lines and fittings Transmission: NEW Series 4, 5 speed manual transmission ACT extreme street/strip clutch ACT prolite 4,3kg flywheel Corksport steel braided clutch line Banzai racing urethane transmission mounts Suspension: Silkroad RM/A8 coilover kit Racing Beat front/rear Swaybars Racing Beat adjustable swaybar end links Racing Beat DTSS rear end toe control eliminators custom front and rear strutbraces Brakes: K-sport 330mm 8 piston front big brake kit corksport steel braided rear brake lines Formell crossdrilled rear brake rotors Wheels: Barracuda velvet 18inch 8,5J offset 25 front 18inch 9,5J offset 25 rear rotor valve stem caps Tires: Falken FK452 225/40R18 front Falken FK452 255/35R18 rear Exterior: GP-Sports G-FOUR bodykit Border headlight intake Shine-auto-project "sexy-style" hood R-Magic mirrors repaint by Hoewijk.nl 35% windowtint modified hood dampers of a 350Z Interior: Autometer single A-pillar gaugepod Autometer dual A-pillar gaugepod custom DIN 3-gauge holder JT-Performance quick release hub JT-performance FC3S adapter hub JT-performance steering wheel Electrics: Apex'i powerFC standalone ECU with handcontroller Apex'i AVCR boostcontroller FC Datalogit interface Racelogic Traction control & launch control GM 3bar map sensor FD3S throttle position sensor Vems wideband & EGT gauge Stri X-line watertemp gauge Stri X-line oiltemp gauge Stri X-line oilpressure gauge Stri X-line fuelpressure gauge Stri X-line boostgauge Lights: JT-performance clear headlights Pilot Bi-Xenon 4300k D-speed clear front turnsignals Skoda dark side turnsignals custom licenceplate lights ICE: Sony CD-F7750 headunit Polk audio 13cm speakers Polk audio 16cm speakers 300W 12/220V DC/AC converter Optima Red Top battery other modifications: lots and lots of custom work removed airconditioning removed ABS removed power steering removed all emissions modified steering rack modified engine wiring loom relocated battery relocated alternator with custom made bracket |

Furb, amazing FC. It has been my background multiple times. You did such a great job with everything, making sure everything was upgraded correctly the first time, and making such a sexy machine.
I might have missed it but what PSI are you at the make what horsepower? |
Great job Furb!
