I'll stop by the shop Teusday or Thursday to see how things are going.
I used one of those small blasters on mine and sprayed them with the same black I used on my car, they have held up great. Did you buy them because they had some surface rust on them?

I had thought about cleaning them up and painting them. But the boot fasteners would rip up the paint on them eventually. So i just decided to get new ones so I would not have to deal with that.

They were pretty far gone. Turn around time for coating would have been like a month. Not sure what the cost would be to ceramic coat such small items would be either.
I just got a call from the shop a couple minutes ago because they had a question for me. They are working on the top right now, so we are moving forward!

Update!
Went to the shop on Thursday and walked in to get a little surprise!
Initially I didn't want to have to mess with the reclining mechanism to try to get the Cobra seats to fit. But after taking a look at what would actually need to be done I figured I'd try it. So I removed the adjustment ***** and the pictures speak for themselves.
I'm going to put the rod back into the seat and try to see if I can have something made that is much smaller than those *****. I'm thinking something along the lines of a lever that operates like a ratchet wrench that can change directions with a switch on it to turn the rod, we'll see how that goes.
The carpeting is installed. The new headliner fabric is hanging from the rear section of the top in these pics\vids but its not in its final resting position obviously.

The bubble wrap and padding on the roll bar from shipping hasn't been taken off yet.

Headliner removed from the targa section. You can see a bit of the headliner for the rear section in this pic.

I dropped off the passenger seat & rail on Friday. The shop is shooting for completion by the end of next week.

And 7 hours later they're $298 plus shipping...wow, I wonder what my custom orange LED ones are worth now? lol I just wanted to thank you Juiceh, they match the rest of the interior lights beautifully! Now, if there was just a way to replace the door/map light bulbs with LEDs...
BTW, after looking through my pile of parts I got back from A-spec I found that broken wire we were hunting for, too.

I'll eventually get around to those on my car. I haven't even looked at them at all. My door panels are in storage. I think I'll pull them out of storage tonight if I have a chance and take a look at them and see what I can do before the weekend. After Friday I may not have much time to worry about them.

I just ordered the bulbs and some other stuff.
I'll post pics of what it LOOKs like when I actually have the stuff installed. I was just showing what I was gonna try.

Cool, I just ordered a bunch of those things! The one I really want to replace is the overhead/map bulb but the fsm doesn't give it a number, just a wattage.

The shop called me today because they ran into a minor snag. The passenger rail needs to be slightly narrowed. After installing the rail and bolting the seat in they found that the rail pinches itself and gets stuck. So they are cutting and rewelding it to narrow it a few millimeters to fix it. They also asked me when I'd be able to come by to test fit and see where I want the crotch strap gromet put in the seats. So, I drove right over there and took care of that about an hour after they called.
I did not have my camera with me when I went over there, because I wasn't planning on going over there today. But I got to see some good progress. The Targa section has been recovered and they were bolting the fasteners to the back of the rear section with the fresh new cloth.
They are gonna call me towards the end of the day tomorrow to let me know where they stand with being able to get it done for Friday. Then I can start arranging the tow truck to haul this bitch back to A-spec. I spoke with Sean @ A-spec yesterday when i stopped by there after work. He knows I'm coming.
I'll have more pics on Friday, maybe some tomorrow.
