Yeah yeah yeah... I know... I do have a 20b. It was destined for my FD. But I'm gonna put something a little more special in there instead I think. If I don't sell the 20b, I'll hold onto it and build it for the FC to drop in when the 13bt goes.

Well that's not entirely true, they had to order some stuff that's taken longer than expected. They didn't want to start without all the parts they need. Once they have everything needed this week they will go to town. Man, I'm really looking forward to getting this car out of the upholstery shop so the real work can begin! We got alot of work to do in a kinda short time frame... This is gonna be fun fun fun!!!

Sorry dude. Its not like I don't want to update this thread more often with good news and assloads of pictures.

The upholstery shop had a hard time locating the Tenex fasteners for the top. I wanted to replace all the hardware for the top with brand new stuff. After running into many dead ends I did some searching and found them. I finally bit the bullet on the only place that had them and they weren't cheap.. They are being express delivered. I'll have them next week then I'll drop them off at the upholstery shop and they can actually start redoing the top. That is all they were waiting for.

I kinda wish I had just towed the car to the shop so I could start the mechanical work instead of having it sit in the upholstery shop where I thought it would be worked on and finished quickly.

At the moment I am putting my Mirrors back together. They will need a rebuffing after I'm done. LoL.... I'll post up pics of those when done tonight. I'll also post up pics of the Tamon spoiler with the LEDs tonight as well. I wanted to post pics of that mounted to a trunk. But I don't have the tools here needed for that at the moment. I left my tools at a friends house when we were working on his car a couple weeks ago.

Tamon LED Duckbill Off:

Tamon LED Wing ON - No Flash:

Tamon LED Wing ON - With FLash:

The LED in the wing will have 2 levels of intensity. Low intensity for when the headlights are on and high intensity for braking(. Once I get to put it on the car I will finish the wiring for that and it will be complete. The brightness of the LEDs pictured above are braking intensity.

Finished LED Mirrors:

I hope you guys like my ideas. I can't wait to install these on the car and test them out in real world conditions.

I still haven't gotten around to working on my second LED mirror idea. Maybe this weekend I'll have time.

Why braking lights on the mirrors? Why not turn signal lights?

There is always the option of adding to or changing the LED ftp setup.

There are areas I have not attacked yet. But I will be getting to those. The trunk with the RB wing will have the trunk light converted to LED at some point. The interior lighting(dome & door panel lights) will eventually be converted to LED. I haven't decided what to do with the fog lights yet. I was thinking about converting those to some 3300K yellow HIDs, but that will be a bit down the line. Besides those areas mentioned everything else has been changed.

The LEDs required for the wing & mirrors comes out to a total of ~$65 shipped. Modding the wing to be able to setup an LED like this cost a bit more though.

They are Yellow Superflux LEDs. The camera shows them in a darker color than they are though. They are turn signal lights.

Those mirrors turned out very nice. I like the subtlety in them.

Car is coming along well, it will be nice to see it come together.

Yep, that was the whole point of this set of mirrors. I wanted to add LED turn signal functionality without the kinda gaudyness of the current LED mirrors on the market. They all have that obvious clear\cloudy plastic lense on them that you can see from a mile away. My next set of Mirrors will have a somewhat similar design as the ones currently on the market. I still haven't gotten around to hacking up another set, but I will eventually.

^dick lol!

The tenex fasteners were delivered to me on Wednesday and I dropped them off at the upholstery shop yesterday. The carpet was installed already. Now they have started on the top. I didn't have my camera with me to take pics of the carpet. They told me it should be done next Friday.

I did not check it all- are you getting the mercedes cloth style top or the oem canvas style?

years ago I needed those tenax fastners, my canvas guy bitched about how much they cost that much I remember.
