Road America in your back yard 2024-2025. Plenty of time to build a car! Or grab one of those Barrington cars.

You need the 8" wide wheels that the BMW Z3s have. Both the radial or the old cantilevers are happier on a wider wheel. Hard to believe they let the BMW in with a wider wheel but that is spilt milk under the bridge.

That said, Production is a good builders class. STL and to a lesser extent, STU are okay too but the Prod guys seem to have more camaraderie. Will be watching your next thread.

Well, you know, SCCA - "trust the process", etc. If the Z3 with the loophole for 8" wheels keeps being dominant eventually enough people will get annoyed for it to get lead trophied.

From talking to the GT3 guys I'm about 90% sure the GY is the faster tire for live axle cars, and I think I can push the performance envelope on the FB; I don't know that anyone has done a cleansheet build since the last few major rules philosophy changes.

That's one way to keep the snout from bending!

My mind always went to cutting it off entirely, and welding in a plate that a C5's bearing assembly could bolt into. The depth of the bearing assembly into the knuckle might be problematic, and I never went further than 'hey this would be neat"

Rules say "stock spindle" and define what part the spindle is... OK, "stock spindle" it is!

The hub is going to get a bit longer for more bearing-to-bearing distance; that was a WIP sketching things out sort of design based on one of the GT3 hubs I designed. 12.19" rotors might also fit, or alternately Enkei RPF1s instead of Advanti Storm S1s.

One of the fun parts is going to figure out how to rebuild a power steering box, but I think I can figure something out.
