I'm starting to think that the flywheel positioned at 9 o clock through inspection hole is false?? I had no problems before I switched pulley...??? Does it sound like my pulley is on wrong??

Update:...Flipped the pulley 180 degrees and bingo. TDC car drives smoother idles better everything. I still dont understand but whatever.... just need to add fuel and its ready for boost now. WEIRDD!!!!

Can't thank you enough!!!!!! I hear you!! Hope to have it tuned this weekend!! We'll see though..

I've spent a little over 3K$ on this setup. Most stuff I bought was also new....

New turbo, and my new Haltech was 1500$ alone. Then you got manifolds, new injectors, wastegate, radiator, coils, guages, TII tranny, custom driveshaft, 6 puck clutch kit, brand new flywheel, intercooler/piping, bov etc... even the small stuff adds up. I doubled my budget to give you an idea. I did everything myself, but as you can probably tell, I like it done clean.

Thanks!!! I understand man. Thats the way I felt haha. My good friends know that I don't plan on selling this car at all.

I mounted a white ABC fire exstinguisher in the car. Don't want an engine fire after all this hard work and money put into it.

Then went out and cruised for a little bit. Got one good picture where I parked.

Yeah, I'd say a proper setup real nice around there. Can be done much cheaper if already have the parts, stuff is given to you, or junkyard finds to help out. I like putting the nicest stuff in my car though lol. I did run into a lot of problems though on my project that needed money to be fixed. I didn't want to settle for junk.

cool stuff manreminds me i need a bigger fire extinguisher

I'm going to be timing my engine very soon, can you help me understand this pic ? What worries me is when I set the timing like in this picture I worry that there is more then one position inside the engine for the rotors when the pully is lined up in the pic. When the crank makes one rotation that doesn't mean the engine hits TDC each time the crank spins 360*, I need some advice on how to know I'm @ the correct setting for the pully. If its fresh in your head throw me a bone!

Yet another problem... story of my life...

Found exhuast leak, and oil oozing out of it...smoke like crazy whenever cars warm now. My buddy tells me its cause its running rich??? Possible turbo oil bearing failure?? Need smaller restrictor plate for turbo inlet line???

This is getting irritating.

Car is strong though. Motor is not blown..

I think I have leftover oil/fuel going out the motor. Cause my car is idling at 11.5 on w/b. Probably why its burning in downpipe. Running way too rich at idle. That or turbo seals are gone... My turbo oil inlet hose has a .60 restrictor on it so thats good. I have no clue but should find out soon.

I'm tuning car tomorrow and saturday. Hopefully it will be sorted out.

Yeah, my bad man. I've been busy wrenchin on the car the past few days trying to sort this crap out.

What I did was is a little different from what you need to do since you have a lightened flywheel.

Check out post #23 from Wacky...

That should get you going. Let me know if you need anything else man. Feel free to pm if you want.

11.7 AFR at idle is wwaaaayyyyy too rich. It should be at 14.7(idealy at sea level anyway) which is stochiometric? Spelling??? Anyway I think if you get a good tune for fuel trim and idle AFR it should run better and get rid of the excess oil in the exhaust. Atleast I'm think so anyway haha anyone feel free to correct me haha

Make that 11.5 hahaha. You are right. I've had a few people telling me this is why its happening. I'd be pissed if my turbo blew up at 200 miles with a .60 oil restrictor. I know its rich as hell, havent had a chance to tune it. Should be getting it tuned shortly!!

Shooting for 14.5-14.7 at idle like you said then were gonna get the fuel corrected where I start to lean. Should be boosting consistently and reliably soon!! No problems please lol..

Gonna change oil and sparkplugs too cause oil might have some fuel in it now and my plugs might be fouled. I'll have videos up as soon as car is running right

thx for the link, not sure it fully applys since i have a aluminum flywheel and a FD pulley.

Rotrican, what throttle body do you use ? I have never seen one like that

mine always idled @ 10.5 afr. Steve Kan was unable to lean out the idle when he tuned it.

NP. Let me know how it works for you. That sub part where it shows the aluminum flywheel should be what you look at on post #23 on that thread. If not give wacky a pm and he'll help you out.

I've seen a few throttle bodies like that. Rotrican, do they have 1 big butterfly instead of three??

Really.. wow. You probably always cry at the stoplights from the fumes idling at 10.5 afr yeah?? Wierd..

Lol...this has been a few years and 6 motors later!!!
I am actually gonna be switching the hair dryer to a GT4094r.

The throttle body is a single butterfly 90mm....and it idles smoothly and at wot sounds nice.
Ill post a video of it idling (at 13.9-14.1 afr) but twinkles may have a fit!!! Lol

Very nice!! The few times i've boosted my car pulled so hard on this little turbo. It spools just as quick as stock too.. Cant imagine yours.

That throttle body is mean!!

I'm thinking I might have lost coolant seal.... Car constantly smokes white out the exhaust. White= coolant

Car still pulls hella good vacuum, good idle, everything. Just white smoke wont go away....

I have coolant sensor hooked up, it would go off if I'm losing coolant. So far i havent lost any coolant???

Are you still idling at 11.7? Fix that first.
