Got a couple things done yesterday. Picked up a TII clutch slave cylinder I needed. Downpipe all the way up untill the muffler is done!! Picked up a 10' stick of 3" pipe from muffler shop for $40. Stuff is thick!! Painted full exhaust with 2000* paint. Should hold lol. Time for pics!!

Pie sliced full 3" downpipe. 2000* paint. Forgot to weld in exhaust bung. I'll have exhaust shop do it since I'll have them do the muffler.

Full 3" exhaust. Didn't use my RB presilencer as planned. Sat too low under the car for my liking. My buddy had this presilincer so we traded. Exhaust goes under rear end not over.

Bye bye polish . Painted cause when tack welding on the tip it got flak all over(not using gas for welds) and couldnt repolish how I liked. I like the paint on it though. More sleeper and less attention.

Gave the ol girl a wash and also decided to reinstall the front grill for a clean stock look. Cant see the intercooler from front unless under the car.

All thats left off the top of my head is to make grounds/battery cables, an fittings/fuel lines/fpr/, fill fluids, and bolt everything back together... think thats it lol

do you have ducting under the i/c ?
if not you will wanna make like a box with some thin sheet metal below the intercooler (but above that big round support) so you directing the air. I can send you a pic of mine

ps. thanks for the compliment, even though you owe the previous owner that compliment, I'm in the process of doing a ton of work to it and then you can decide if I deserve a compliment
(painted engine bay, simplified wires, everything cleaned and a brand fresh spanking new engine hand assembled by a Puerto Rican rotary master in my driveway..)

How did you like the Mikuni side draft? I had a Mikuni on my 1st gen and it was night and day from the stock carb. Mikunis are very rare to find these days! Do you still have it?

No ducting.. If you could post a pic I would definitely appreciate it!

Well, I like what the previous owner did and what you've done to keep it in the state it is . I'll be looking forward to see what your car will be like finished!!!

Wish I had a Puerto Rican rotary master in my driveway!!

I loved the mikuni setup. Very reliable carb and setup. I daily drove with that carb for nearly 3 1/2 years no problems!!! I can't really say on night and day difference from stock carb cause I did mikuni swap and 13b swap together...

I don't have it anymore. Sold it to a fellow rotorhead here on the forum!!

What is everyone doing for fuel lines that dont have the larger GSL-SE fuel lines???? Im running -6 stainless line from my fpr to stock fuel lines and somehow need to connect it to the tiny fuel line for the return. Is the stock 12a(79-85) fuel return too small? Or does everybody just say so..

This is the only major thing holding me back..

I was going to just do -6 fuel line all the way back to the pump but I would still need to clamp it down to some tiny original line somewhere????

i didn't have the gsl-se lines so i used the stock return line for supply and got a roll of 3/8" (i think that is the size ) copper line from home depot and replaced the small fuel line with that for the return. im using a gsl-se fuel pump for my blow through set up and these lines are plenty big.

Hmm. Is copper ok to use?? I could do that. Or If I find a parts store that has actual fuel line rolls I'll pay for it. I got a few quotes from race shops here for $90 for 10 feet of -6 stainless fuel line. No thanks when hard line would work just fine lol.

I feel special now knowing you have the same intercooler haha.
Got to keep it nice and pretty lol.

I need to tap into the original compression elbow for the air sensor for Haltech. If I could sort out and find the tap I need local and fuel lines I could have this thing going tonight on the base map C. Ludwig gave me which should be a great map. Just need to really work with fuel and its a go!!

Well, running into problems almost nonstop it seems. I will no longer give an expected time of when it will be done lol. When it's done it's done.

-Had to get new 8.7 psi wastegate spring cause the one in wastegate was 12psi.
-My primary injectors are low impedance, I need high impedance. (Stock S4 injectors*460cc*, who has them??????)
-My friend who I had install my haltech I had clean up one of my original wiring harness to get rid of factory wires not needed. My starter wire was part of that harness so I cant start my car with key. I can jump it!! I'll be patient though lol. He should be in town Wednesday with it..

So thats where Im at. Unfortunately.

Other than that^stuff needed, I still need to fill radiator, install rad hoses, exhaust gasket, weld on muffler, and install map on ecu and drive the damn thing!!

Sucks ***** seeing three other friends finish their rotary projects this week when I have to wait another week..

Thank you! This is what i've been doing. Its looking like it's paying off...

The car is running!!!

New primary injectors and clips installed yesterday. Filled fluids, installed base map. Car turns over and idles no problem!!!! We had some troubles with fuel, but worked it out.

Had a leaking secondary injector. Sorted that out. No fuel leaks. Oil pan is leaking a little bit(Never use factory gasket...use RTV!!!!). Other than oil pan, there are no leaks we have come across at all!!

I'll have pictures and videos up asap!!!! Still got to work out some bugs and get it dialed in!

I already have a dumb smile on my face

do you have a 12a pulley..?12a yellow mark is 0 tdc.gsl-se pulley . yellow mark is 5 atdc....make sure you the pulley on the right way....if you can fine tdc.. your tuner should have no problem timing your engine regardless what pulley you have...

Thats what I thought..

I'll have to look at my pulley again. I'm not sure what pulley I have . I know the car needs to be at tdc. Then base map from C. Ludwig on here should be pretty damn good.

Gets lean when turbo starts to spool. Shouldnt be getting lean with 1000cc secondays on S4 base map??? Not on 8psi?

I still need some bugs sorted out before entering boost.

Bad battery that wont hold charge, small fuel leak near fuel pump, correct timing and base map then correct fuel and should be good!

Make sure on the Haltech that the secondary staging for the injectors isn't set at 4000 rpms. That is usually the stock base map setting. Put the staging at 3500 rpms or lower. As far as the tach signal, what I did was use the extra loose wire from the trailing coil and wired it to the negative ignitor circuit in the factory wiring.

Glad to hear you finally got it running!!!!!

Good call. I'll make sure to check that!! Expecting boost to start at 3k or just over should I have it closer to 3000 rpms??

I'm just puttin around town putting miles on the turbo to break it in so it'll be ready when the rest of the car is..

I'll look into the FSM and give it a shot. Thanks again Sam!!!

Right!!....Finallyy!!!!

Just play around with the secondary staging to see what works best with when your boost comes in. Every turbo setup is different, so it's just trial and error
