Appreciate that coming from you DD. I definitely am lol. Just got off the phone with Jonathan from www.goopyperformance.com. Going to have some of their decals sent my way to put on my car.

Jonathan said for breakin I should drive nicely for 300-500 miles. Probably change oil at 350 miles and break it in up to 500 miles. I'll change the oil again then off to the dyno.
I have a spare S4 engine and thinking of rebuilding for my GSL-SE with a build like yours. What did you do to the 6 ports. You removed the sleeves, than what? any shaping, farther porting or contouring?

Dude, that would be awesome. You ever stop in vegas let me know.
Dropped off turbo manifold. I'll have the turbo mounted exactly where I want it this time around and be able to run a air filter instead of the "rock catcher" turbo screen. I'll have more space where it wont interfere with the clutch fan shroud like last setup.
Dude. No offense or anything, but ditch that clutch failure fan and go with an electric fan. Since you are running a Haltech you can program it to activate a fan relay at whatever temp you desire. Or you can get a thermal fan controller at Advance Auto or wherever to set the fan "on" temp. The latter is how I went considering that I am running a R-Tek 1.7 ecu.
Last year I traveled to Vegas for work about 10 times. This year I don't think I will be going.
Track days around here have almost no rotary or FB representation. I usually pick a Lotus and follow/play with them--ride them on the straights and try to follow in the corners.
Wish I had rotary buddies

.I wish I had more rotary buddies too lol. Some friends just don't understand what they're missing out on lol. Can't wait to get back to the weekly meets and go cruise.
On another note I got my replacement intercooler pipe to use instead of the old one with the bov flange on it. Also ordered new black silicone couplers to replace the blue couplers which don't match the blue I painted the engine lol.

I know I do.. I might not show till the car is tuned on the dyno, but expect to see me very soon
.
I started putting the rest of the car back together as I got my turbo manifold back from xtreme metal works saturday. I had them just cut the t4 flange off and weld on 1 1/2" pipe towards the top of the t4 flange to help angle it away from the lower intake manifold. What it looks like...

Turbo sits perfectly where I want it now. I'll have pics up of turbo location and rest of engine bay today when It gets bright out and I get the car started.
Last night I got it all ready and primed the oil system. Getting fuel. I wasn't getting any spark though on leading/trailing
. I gave up last night as I was up for 30 hours at that point. Starting fresh today. Going to recheck the grounds/connections. Has to be something electrical. Possbily bad coils, but they were fine last setup. Time to go at it and see what I find out. Wish me luck!

Thanks Ray^!
I've had the car running for a couple hours now! Ignition fuse was blown.
Still runs/idles like crap. Trying to figure it out.
One oil leak coming from oil pan(slow drip)
I did sealant and oem gasket and still found a way out. Guess I'll have to drop the pan, but i'll wait till I need to change the oil at 350 miles.
Other than it running like crap and the leak everything looks ok.

Damn. Well if something comes up where you do come out let me know. I haven't got any trackdays on my belt, but I wouldn't mind having some. I don't want to make this a track car though. We don't really have any rotary track cars here either. Or rotaries in general lol. There's some of us though.

Maybe I need to put more effort into making rotary friends. Going to local HPDE days is very easy to do vs. driving half way across the country. Around here we have Thunderbolt/Lightning, VIR, Pocono etc. For $300 I have a full day of tearing it up at the track an hour or two away which is easier and cheaper than driving to Atlanta.

Have 175 miles on the new engine. I'm pissed though. Last 15 miles I had very little oil pressure. 10 at idle and 25-30 while driving. Sounds like front cover o ring must've took a ****. Engine needs to come out or I need to find something that will hold the clutch down 100% while pulling front cover. This is BS
Sorry to hear it's having problems. When I had to pull my front cover with the engine in the car I just got a board and wedged it in between the seat rail and clutch pedal and held it down that way. Thousands of miles later and no issues so it worked fine.
Keep plugging away and you'll get it going, it's looking great so far!
Mikeric - I feel your pain, so few FB guys out here.. it's really a shame.

A piece of angle iron with two holes drilled to bolt to the slave cyl mounting bosses, and a tapped hole for a long bolt to push the clutch arm will suffice. I have used the old faithful "2x4 wedged against the seat," but because I planned to leave it overnight I whipped up the angle iron piece to temporarily replace the slave cyl. and avoid any possible leakdown of the hyd. system.

I blew my motor twice due to oil pressure issues--once on track due to high-g starvation and one due to the o-ring failure. I'm slightly paranoid with oil pressure now and have installed an Accusump for good measure.

Thanks for all the help guys. What I did to hold the clutch down was put a medium sized sledgehammer sideways pushing in the clutch and one end behind the footrest left of the clutch and the other end behind the gas pedal. This held the clutch in all the way and wasnt going to slip. I then put a board inbetween seat and clutch pedal also for extra security.
I got the cover off and replaced the oring. I didn't use a front cover gasket this time. I believe it will only give a better/tighter seal to the oring. I felt bad about the thickness of the atkinsrotary front cover seal from the beginning. I'm hoping this solves my issues with oil pressure.
Need to install the oil lines, fan/shroud, and add fluids. I'll find out very soon.
I need you right now rotary gods!!

Car runs great!! No oil leaks, coolant leaks, fuel leaks. Resealing the oil pan was a success as was the front cover oring. Oil pressure is back to normal!
I can break in the engine again! Damn that was some BS for a little oring. I would like to slap the person who was in charge of that design at mazda. Retarded

All this work, yet not one 15 second video for us to drool over... Tsk tsk.
Engine looks beautiful. Sadly mine only looked that good when I got it. I'm going to have to pull the intake and coils off the top and give her a thorough bath this year.

man you got me all sketched out about using the front cover gasket from atkins now. did u just use rtv in place of the gasket? still use the lil white ring that goes around the oring?

UPDATE: Good and bad news...
My tuner Ben(karack) noticed even though my car is timed the same it's different now after swapping the oring to when I had it before.
The bad: So, my timing gear is probably on backwards... Yes, I know. Taper side on the timing parts face the engine. I still could've missed it though and had a brain fart.
The good: Engine has around 275 miles on it. All is good there. I also got my redlinegoods.com leather shifter boot in. Installed and looks great.
I'll have pics and vids soon.
