Pulling it apart is the easy part lol. I don't encourage anyone to do this unless you have a lot of confidence in your skills and have a lot of patience.

Some of the more difficult things is knowing to remove the rubber O rings that are inside the holes after removing the hardware. You will need a scribe to pull them out. You don't want to cook them in an oven when coating the part. Also the brass flappers inside use brass screws to hold them in place. Those can be difficult and I had to drill out a few. Now I need to source screws to replace the ones I had to drill out.

Also these things get very greasy and grimey. You will need to do some good cleaning or the oils will come out during the baking process.

I would say it's an advanced level project. It's one of the more difficult and time consuming parts of the build. I've spent the last 2 nights just degreasing the small throttle body parts so they can be nickel plated.

First they are removed from the TB, then the TB itself is media blasted and degreased. It then gets powdercoated. The TB parts then have to get cleaned and prepped and will take an acid bath before going on to be plated and then polished.

Reassembly is last. I'm half way thru the process. I would say there is probably a total of 6-8 man hours on just the throttle body so far and I haven't even plated and polished the small parts to reassembled it yet. Expect this job on the TB alone to take you 12+ man hours. Unless you do this everyday I can't see it going much faster without a lot of help.

This may help you do the hardest part of the job once you get to reassembling your TB.

Biggest issue is getting all the adjustables in adjustment. Note how many turns in (or out) something is or mark it's position before you tear it apart

Thanks Fritz, I sent you an email with a few other shots including this one.
Glad you liked them. I will be shooting Jason Poco's MKII Supra this weekend. I may post a few here if folks want to see them.

Yes we want to see them

I suggest starting a car photo thread in the video/pic sub forum. Also a Calendar for 2017 would be nice

Photos of the Supra can be seen here as well as the story behind the car and its owner.

Started assembling the car. Had some small issues so been going slow. Have to clean some threads on the upper from the sand blasting and powder coating. I tore apart my my AIT threading it in. Jason Poco got it out for me while I was editing his Supra photos. Meanwhile Jehan is nickel plating TB parts. These are new processes and sometimes require a few tries. The nickel bath had some issues so we will get around to that later.

Pics of some assembly. I'm waiting on doing a turbo upgrade. So will put it back together with the A-Spec GT35R kit I have on the car.

Not sure if I missed it but it looks like your white FD is for sale on eBay. Gorgeous car btw. Only a few hours left however. Tons of car for a starting bid of 25k.

Couple friends came down Saturday to help install the Vmount. 1cleancym and fourtyounce arrived around 7am demanding flapjacks. But I had none. I have been avoiding bending my AC lines so I invited my friends over to bend (break them for me).
Now he feels bad and is making me a new custom line.

Mission accomplished. I also am getting the turbo housing powdercoated so it matches nicely. I am indebted to my friends like the Mafia. They cannot be denied family photos/car photos.. etc.

Pics of the progress.

Yes it is a Greddy V mount; Blue coolant hose is being replaced
Turbo blanket is being replaced. I did more scrubbing under the hood today with degreaser also moving the HKS twin power to the drivers side next to the igniter.

If you pop the windshield wiper hose connection off the firewall, that's a good place for the twin power as well...

Yeah, I looked at that also. I haven't drilled a hole yet. Lots to do, lots to do.

I thought for sure you'd ditch the twin power for the newer coils like a sakebomb kit

It was talked about. I will see how it handles the boost and water meth. I doubt the car will ever see more than 17-18 psi and mostly be driven at 12-14psi more regularly. I don't have the drivetrain for more power than that and it's always an upgrade that can be done at a later date.
I have been waffling about an EFR8374 turbo upgrade but I'd rather run the current turbo and put a set of SakeBomb AP Racing Brake kit on the car. I also want to pick up thier headlight kit. So even when the car is up and running again soon the build will continue. I recently sold my Range Rover and am turning my BMW in next month at the end of it's lease. That is freeing me up to pursue my next project. My Property upgrade where I have room for more RX-7's including a lift and other items.... at least that's the dream I am pursuing. I have had to pass on another nice RX-7 recently because of this. Another CW car that I wanted to add.
First thing is first. I need a place to work on and store these things. It's a tall order for where I live. It's the region of the "subdivision". It doesn't cater to what I am after.
