I had a neighbor many years ago who claimed to have run a Volvo transmission case through his dishwasher.

I also had the shop manual laid out on her Restoration Hardware leather sofa.

Looks like you will be out on the street in no time. Good thing you will have a nice CYM to sleep in. By the way, that Persian rug looks like it needs some parts laid out on it as a final hurrah!

I like this trend you are setting. I may be persuaded to start a build thread filled with pictures of car parts laid out on different parts of my house. I envision having a sooty downpipe laid on top of a Chanel bag, or even wrenches stored in a Louis Vuitton purse.

By the way, good job on the progress.

You guys are my heroes. Best I've been able to do is de-grease an urethane bowling ball in the dishwasher.

Information flows both ways in this build thread. Thanks for the suggestion.

More progress has been made. Not much worth noting, no photos. Ordered a bunch of hardware. Should be quite a treat when that's installed.
Def will be photos of that. Placed a significant order last night and another today. Because OEM hardware wasn't expensive enough.
Titanium hardware coming from https://www.probolt-usa.com

So why not just stainless steel? It's significantly weaker than the factory mild steel. Anything with load on it I am replacing with titanium. Yes it's also half the weight. It also won't rust.
No I didn't get any ricey colors, just natural titanium. It should look good with the black powder coating. Is it excessive? Probably. But it's how I want it to look and this build is all about form following function.
More to come on this...

Thanks for the consulting on the exotic metals and alloys. Was very informative. Helped me decide which way to go on this.

Glad I can help I'm using the same clamps for my coolant system too, got a rid of a small leak I had coming out of the t-stat housing where the stock clamp just not tight enough.

I just went through the very same process, upgrade from a M2 large setup to GReddy V-mount. Only thing I didn't like about this kit is the PS line, the stock hose just not long enough to reach comfortably, maybe I'm positioning it wrong but I had to extend the hose about 3" in order to not kink the line, interested to see if you have the same issue or not when you get to that point.

Kinda at a stand still with my Greddy V mount install, trying to be careful bending the AC lines while the system is charged. I'd like to see some install pics before I get cavalier just bending stuff. Feel free to PM me pics or post them here of your AC lines bent to fit.

Here's my solution. Just go very slowly and try to avoid extremely tight bends. Modified one mounting point on my condensor. System was created with stock fittings. Had to have one custom made rubber hose using stock ends as shown. Been running now for 5 years as shown with R12 and still blowing cold as ice on setting 2. Evacuate the system and recharge it to give you the greatest flexibility with bending and relocating items. Plus, once the system's open, it's a great time to replace all of your AC o-rings. Just a suggestion.

Appreciate the photos. Has anyone been able to accomplish bending the stock lines to fit without discharging the system? I have ice cold AC and its charged with R12. Can is Inoperable right now and I'm not towing it anywhere to just discharge the AC.

Going custom is always an option but I'm trying to use that as a last resort.

Sand blasted some parts and took them to 1cleanCYM's for some powdercoating.
We spent all day prepping, cleaning and coating several parts. We then headed out to Sandy Hook for a Photoshoot of his CYM. Hit up his build thread for more info about that.

Blasted these last week. Then the rest on Friday before heading up to a friends for some coating.

I have a mountain of excuses. As a matter of fact I may be busy this weekend helping a friend with yet another CYM install some Zeal coilovers and 99 brakes.

Very nice, have you put together the throttle body springs and stuff before? That work looks daunting.

It is intimidating but I took a lot of photos as I took it apart and I also have a fully assembled TB that I will reference as I'm reassembling. I plan to nickel plate all the TB hardware once I clean and prep it before reassembly. The dark powdercoat needs some contrast in my opinion. I am hoping it comes out nicely. My friends and I are doing the Media blasting, powder coating and nickel plating ourselves. Maybe Fourtyounce will explain the DIY process for you guys on the Nickel plating.
You can always reference YouTube for such things as well but you may want to see first hand how it's done from someone doing RX7 specific parts?

Here are some test runs on the DIY nickel plating.
