forgive my ignorance, but what's the point of buying a reman if it's just going to be cracked open right after?

About the same price as buying pieces and you know everything is to spec.

Its quite a bit cheaper than piecing things together.....plus it comes with all new seals, springs, and oil rings

The engine arrived at IRP yesterday. I will be going there next week sometime and will be watching the engine teardown and then the rotating assembly has to be packaged and sent out.

I went to IRP to watch the teardown of my engine. It turns out the engine is almost all new. So Ray really hooked me up with the reman motor this time.

So tomorrow I have to ship the rotors to A-spec so they can be clearanced, then the rotating assembly is off to mazdatrix for balancing.

Fantastic clean looking car. I like that you've kept most of the stock body lines. I love red too..
The dash cluster is very interesting. A lot of work has gone into this one

But sadly I came here because I wanted to see gratuitous pics of pepperoni pizza... Not enough pizza pics!!!!!

Project wise I don't have much to update. I just picked up a totaled FD shell and will install the 94/95 rear subframe braces that it has into my 93 car. I also am going to change the fuel lines under the car to larger diameter ones.

I also plan to degrease the entire underbody. It is covered in oil due to oil coming out of my filler neck on track last year.

In a few weeks their should be some nice engine updates though *fingers crossed*

+1 on the fuel line size, thinking of going -8 fees and -6 return with close to same setup as you.
