What does that have to do with his thread being longer? I'm sure if he didn't have a comment for nearly every reply opposing his conversion it would be a lot shorter

Not only that, but he feels the need to come into threads like this one and continue to prove how much better his car will be

Man this thread is way more interesting than I ever imagined! Anyway, I'm basically sitting here waiting for the Pettit phone call. Can't wait to pick up the car! And yes, I will break the car in properly.

I don't have any new pics for you guys but am taking my camera with me when I go to pick up the car. Hang tight and soon there will be plenty of pics posted.

FYI - regarding Jim and his conversion plans, I say to each his own. He's building his dream car and I admire all the work he's put into the car. He's also way more knowledgable than I will ever be regarding cars. Therefore, this relatively "tame" 20B conversion is very good for me!

Goodluck!

Thanks for recognizing that.

Possibly, although most of the random negative comments in my thread have been removed at my request, and most of what remains are technical questions and technical information. It's all right that you haven't read it and therefore don't know what's in it.

Maybe you could show me where I mentioned my car in relation to David's? My presence in this thread, besides support for his project, was initially to voice my doubts about the horsepower numbers being claimed for 20Bs with "stock" twins. None of my comments have had anything to do with my car.

OTHERS bring my car into threads like this. Not me.

Now, now. No one said your car was going to be tame.

lol. I realize you have everything from nut swingers to haters here on the forum. I'm neither, but it's obvious that your project is basically being built exactly how you want it from the ground up by you (minus some fab work). I understand that and just thought the fellow's comment was out of line.

exactly. it's amusing how that works. *shakes head*

Anyways... lets get back on topic.

David,
There's a rotary meet this weekend (the 20th) in jacksonville. I'm planning to be there along with a lot of other rx7 owners in the area. I may not be a rotard anymore, but I still appreciate them and have friends in the rotarded community. Think you'll have her back in time to join us? I'm sure everyone would love to see your car.

Unfortunately not. Even if I do get to pick up the car this week, I'm headed to Asheville NC this weekend so meeting will be out. Would love to get together with the group at the next get together.

UPDATE:

I've confirmed picking up the car next Monday and Tuesday at Pettit. Couldn't make it this week because of relatives and Thanksgiving (have 30 showing up for dinner on Thursday). For some reason, my wife thought this was more important than picking up the car. Silly wife!

I'll take my camera with me and post pics next week!

Now, now... she did give you the thumbs up for your project... more than what most wives would do.

I'm assuming the boys at Pettit made a few "free" break-in runs just for you David

I think he has to break it in before a dyno run.

Yes!!

I'm typing this message from Cam's PC at Pettit Racing! The car looks awesome and I've taken many pics of it and the shop to post. Will do this as soon as I get back to Jacksonville.

Am currently waiting on a call from Chris at Wolf USA - Cam needs some help dialing in the tuning on the car. The car starts and idles great but is breaking up a bit under load. Hopefully Chris will call soon and I can get on the raod to Jacksonville.

And yes, I'll need to break in the engine for about 1,000 miles before getting a good dyno run. The car will be limited to about 6 PSI of boost and rev limited to 6500 RPMs until the engine is broken in. Spent a few hours with Cam yesterday and got to take the car out on its first run under the Wolf EMS. Even with the tuning issues, I can tell the car is going to be fun.

Will post more soon!
