I gathered all the parts almost one year ago and the mechanic that is baby-sitting the car is finally starting the conversion. Would be really cool to follow you next year at DGRR and see how the two cars perform.

There were two cars running DCTs at DGRR. Talking with them, they both are very happy with the swap and didn't miss the manual at all.

My son is a great kid... since about a year ago he's been so eager to learn... rotaries/cars

Had some free time this morning to work on stripping the engine bay for paint.
Plan is to strip it down to about 80% of complete removal and work around what’s left in the bay. ABS will be removed and not sure if it’s going back in??
I've thought about removing ABS on my car, but I've had cases where it really helped out. I also wonder at the liability if you get into an accident and someone finds you removed a safety feature.
But it DOES chew up a lot of damn room under the hood
Take pictures of all that stuff you remove. A lot of that small stuff isn't well documented how it goes in and you typically don't have to pull that stuff (brake booster, brake hard lines, front harness) when pulling an engine.
Will your current Haltech run the 20b or will you have to change it out?

Yes, my Haltech 2500 can run the 20B, ill have to add 2 injectors and 2 ignitions runs to the harness.
In a car that will be predominantly driven (>90% mileage) on the street, I think the risk of unexpected drivers and road conditions demand ABS... no matter how old or not the latest-and-greatest.
I think my simple "60 Minute Rule" applies: If something tragic happened because of your decision and the "60 Minutes" reporters showed up at your home asking hard questions about that decision, would you still feel comfortable explaining your choice (i.e aesthetic vs safety tradeoffs)?
Really like the look of the ABS delete, we have done a few and have had no issues.
We don’t daily the car but we do often street driven the car as well and it’
has had no issues.

Great advice! I have all abs components bagged, tagged and boxed up they ain’t going anywhere…while I continue the engine bay prep for painting. Thanks replying too

Got a few more things to remove and then start the prep process for paint.
Always heard painting is in the prep.. so I’ll be taking my time!
