Arrow

Did some more mock up and test fitting.
This is the stock WP w/Alt… very tight, less than a 1/2 once from the hood.

Doing more clearance checks with the 20b JDL oil pan and RPM subframe at the steering rack. All stock accessories fit ie.. a/c, ps, alt. Next I’ll be removing the engine/trans for paint prep.

Also some pics of the combo in the engine bay…. She THICK!

Loving the build! Is that enough room for some drivetrain movement on that alternator?

Thanks man!
Yeah, I’m worried about that too but I’m trying to keep everything in its place.
I got a few ideas for it but that’s gonna be later 👍

Got my Explorer 8.8 for the Ronin swap. It’s has a 3.73 open diff and I’ll be changing it to a truetrac with 4.10 gear.
Also I gotta mod the Explorer diff cover and drop the FDs rear subframe next to get the Ronin X brace/mount welded in.

Test fit the DCT mount with BMW shifter… Had to open up one hole on the shifter mount but other than that it was plug and plug for the mount.
Neal’s kit is goodness!!!

Little dude got him some wheels now!

Taking a break from the 20b build…. Stevie and I rode out to get his first car.

It’s a 2010 RX-8 R3 w/100k miles.
Pics make it look super clean but she’s not prefect.
Theres plenty of scratches, dings and road rash on the front bumper but it’s a very solid car.

Little dude got him some wheels now
He was lovin it the whole way home!
He said he likes driving it more than my FD

They're super fun to drive just don't except it to have any straight-line speed... it's all about the sweet suspension.
In a RX-8 you will get walked by mini vans

8.8 break down.

Been crazy busy so not much progress on the build but finally had some free time to do some garage guy ****.

I tore down 2010 Explorer 8.8 IRS.. I’ll be rebuilding it with a Detroit truetrac W/4.10 gear.

I pressed in new SuperPro bushings for the Ronin 8.8 diff swap mount.

Modded diff cover … ears needed to be cut off.

Gonna paint the mount next.

Steve

Man that 8 looks great, perfect car for Stevie! Nice to have a car that's solid that you can fix a few things as you go.

Can't wait to see him on the Dragon in 2023!

Thx Dale!
We have a list of little stuff to do to it but she’s solid.
No compression numbers but she starts great hot and cold so we ain’t too worried about that.
It was in one fender bender back in 2018, minor damage to the pass front but no worries it’s a driver not a show car 👍

Ima probably be his passenger( lord help me)for DGRR 2023.
My **** box ain’t no where gonna be ready… still too much on the plate to accomplish.

Steve

Angry CV grease 😡

Got the ends all cleaned up.
Man I’ll tell you CV grease is the gift that just keeps given!
I use gasoline to cut thought and worked out great 👍

I got everything ready so I’m hoping to have some free time this weekend to rebuild them with the Ronin Grande axles.

Steve
