Break out the tools one weekend and replace it! It's not that big of a job, 4 or 5 hours including breaks and you should be fine. The last time I did mine I started around noon and had it back together late that evening.

Dudes. I was checking the itinerary and you've got some serious loops and hills in that run.

Is it OK if I bring a boinger?

Professor, if I get to make it, you can ride in the Blue One. But, if not, I am sure the gang will welcome Flipper.

North Atlanta Caravan to B3R 2012

I'll start a separate thread soon on the Atlanta Caravan to B3R. We can meet at Twisted Tavern Parking lot, then meet up with Ray on the interstate. Well leave Saturday morning and hopefully meet up with Tim and whoever he'll bring down off the mountain for a lunch stop. Then we can all head to the campsite.

So the Alabama, Georgia, anyone coming up from FL?, can meet at Twisted Tavern off of I-85, Exit 111 (Lawrenceville/ Suwanee Road) in the morning.
Drive up I-85N into SC and up a scenic drive to Brevard, NC to meet others from NC, SC for lunch
All drive to Smokemount campsite, with a few scenary stops.

I'm pretty set on coming so plan on meeting me at the Commerce Walmart (if you were planning on making a pit stop there.)

just now saw this, and i'd like to try to make it but not 100% sure if i could kinda late notice i suppose. so how does it work? just show up at the campsite, pay the camping fee? sign up/register first? did i miss the register deadline? if i need to register, where can i register at? as far as the cook out, is this a group effort (as in everyone pitch in money towards it) or is it a "you're on your own" deal?

ideally you show up for breakfast at cracker barrel in asheville (right off exit 44 of I-40)... then cruise down the parkway with everyone... get to the camp site, set up, hang out, have a good time...

as for food, i'm not providing it =P there is a bi-lo (maybe it's a food lion) in Cherokee, about 15 min drive from the campsite to get food if you don't feel like packing a cooler... usually people will talk and coordinate to get food... but you making sure you get food in your belly is up to you, it won't be provided for you...

as for registering/fees... if you want to throw some money at me for getting the camp sites and coordinating everything, cool... if not, i don't really care. I'll be up front about it, i've spent a few hours of my time and about $80 on the camp sites. I care more about people coming and having a good time, and if that means i spend a little money, then ok... who cares?

it might be helpful to make sure you have someone's cell number so when you are coming in we can know when to expect you and/or if you have any trouble... you can PM me for my info if you want... either drive down sat morning to meet up with us or stay some where in asheville on friday night...

Yes you do. You can drop the old lump off at the end of my driveway :-) I'll take that steering rack too..

What the heck, just leave your whole front subframe. You didn't need all that stuff, right? :-) :-)

That's great that you got the clutch done. Maybe we can follow each other over to the cracker barrel together if you want.

Had a great track weekend this weekend. The red one is still in one piece just need to clean it up change the oil and see what's left of the brake pads and change if necessary. So we are still on track to bring both cars.
