I don't really do a "registration" for the B3R anymore... just kind of a tell me you're showing up in a thread so i have a rough idea of how many people to expect...

as for the pop up camper, you would need to get your own campsite that supports the camper, the groups sites are "tents only". I believe I have a link to the campsite reservation system on the website so you can see a layout of the campground.

If you have any other questions about it, you can ask here or PM me and I'll help how ever I can.

Reserved site D40 for Sat. 27 & Sun. 28. Plan to be camping in Linville Falls the 24 & 25th, and then stay in Asheville the night of the 26th. Any suggestions on where to camp or not to camp in the Asheville area?

nope, there isn't any "local" knowledget i know of preferred camping place or any to avoid that i'm aware... so any camping in/around asheville you can find should be fine...

There is a KOA in Black Mountain, about 20 mins east of Asheville on Hwy 70 which parallels I-40. I don't know much about it, but it seems popular.

Sounds like fun. I`ll ask Viperx7 if he thinks he would go, I might bring my wife this time since the roads aren`t the Gap. She cant stand tight tight turns, I think I` try to make it.

yeah, this event is centered about a nice leisurely cruise on the parkway, not the hardcore spirited driving that some how always happens on the dragon... speed limit is 45 on the parkway, but you will get stuck behind people and get to enjoy the view (maybe you and the wife trade off driving so you both can look around! =P)

I just want to chime in and say WOW! I just drove back from VIR this past weekend and had the pleasure of driving this road way through VA and north NC. I was so amazed with scenery and the roads were Amazing!!! I logged in my gps as a place to return to with a proper car. (I was working so I brought the less thirsty car) but now that I see you have an annual event, I'll try and plan better for next year! Congrats on living in such a beautiful part of the world. Have a great weekend!

^^ Hey glad you made it to the group! I was going to stop in the store and let you know about the B3R.
Gas prices!!! You can do without food for a day or two to take a drive on the parkway with us. Besides, the whole thing starts out at Cracker Barrel. What better way to start your day than with a belly full of eggs and a nose full of unburned hydrocarbons?

The high octane brew will be bottled this week! That gives it a whole month to age!

This is great news to an alcoholic ! I also recently found myself in Hickory, NC at Amos Howards and picked up a growler, are you familiar with that place Tim? Just made a grocery run to stock up on some craft brews, limited edition & seasonal bottled varieties, to share. (Grocery stores with a decent beer selection are about thirty minutes away.) I'm really getting excited about this trip. My first vacation in over 2 years. . . We finally slaughtered the last remaining farm animal on Saturday and now we're free. . . Thanks to all for the heads up on the KOA in Ashville. I'll probably just go ahead and reserve my spot tonight.

You guys that like craft beers, I would suggest a stop in Black Mountain to Pisgah Brewing. Before my liver gave up the ghost, that was some of the best beer around. Still is, according to my wife... Highland Brewing is pretty good as well, but Pigah is still small, and I like that.

Of course, I'm sure these are nothing compared to Tim's brew :-) For some reason, in my mind it would taste like waffles (??)

I'll have to see if my wife will let me loose for a few days. After the cancer and everything else, I could really use a vacation.

However, I will only go if the Professor goes!

I have been working on the Professor, but he is a hard man to pin down.

I know you are watching Professor, what say you?

Heres to a cancer survivor! I raise my glass to you in salute!

The professor should go or he may not see all the things I've done to my 7.

Hopefully we can raise a real glass together in a few weeks.

Still have to run the idea past the wife though.

Check the link on the first page Ray.

And, now I can use your statement as leverage on the wife! lol. "But honey, Ray heard I was going and decided he couldn't not show up if I was going. How would it look if I didn't go now?"

I completely overlooked that first page Mark, thanks for pointing it out.

Yep, it sounds like we can be each other's excuse, could be a real fine meeting of the minds and rotories.
