If you want, post a seperate thread in the adaptronic forums on here detailing your setup, the issues you are having, and attach a copy of the tune file you are using with any log data you may have from it. There are a handful of us on here who can try and help you sort it and at least eliminate the possibility that its a setup issue and not a hardware issue.

Yeah, I'd start a new thread, or find the thread where I was having a similar issue. It's probably the launch control rev limit and/or a mis-configuration of the neutral/clutch digital inputs, or its related to a rev limit for a temp sensor that isn't reading the correct temp. I found the out-of-the-box tune files included with the software to be very incomplete. The ECU might plug and play, but the tunes they provided certainly are not.

It's definitely gone down hill, I use to back adaptronic 100% until I got this modular (for my partners 180sx) as I've used multiple selects in the past and they worked fantastic. Going from a powerFC which didn't receive any RPM cuts, the Adaptronic straight away wouldn't rev above 6500RPM even though the powerFC would, no power cuts, no flags, no nothing. It always seemed to have erratic AFRs so we went through the fuel system (Because surely it won't be the new ECU right?) new fuel pump, injectors, rail, FPR the works. The new bosch 2200cc injectors just made things worse, biggest AFR swings on idle going from 12.8 to 16 and making it richer didn't help, also on cruising, it'd be a nice 14.7, then randomly lean out to 16s AFRs. I'd make changes to a part of the map which would result in the AFRs I was chasing but then the car would go back over the same part of the map and they'd be lean or rich. I gave the ECU a new power wire via a relay, new grounds, changed my wideband just incase....nothing worked. The support wasn't all that helpful if I'm being completely honest, like Mark is awesome but is obviously overloaded with support tickets, would take 2-7 days to reply to ask if the car is running braided lines over rubber hose as rubber hose has better dampening aspects.... Only thing left was the ECU, put powerFC back in, after 10-15 minutes playing with map, the car was running fantastic, nice 14.2 - 14.7 idle at 0.8% injector duty, AFRs were stable...consistent and no RPM cut!!! rev'd all the way to red line perfectly. In the middle of receiving a refund at the moment, then going a haltech elite.
Just want to thank you Skeese, as I wasn't doubting the ECU until reading your posts, seems we've been down similar paths haha, keep up the amazing work.

I looked at the page source and it appears like they do not have images such as http://www.adaptronic.com.au/wp/wp-c...ts-300x164.png

BTW if you go to www.adaptronicecu.com you can search the website for alot of things for the modular ECU's and there are blogs for alot of common functions individuals are having issues with. I will agree some are harder to understand than others there is no doubt about that and yes its not a full manual.

So Confirmed. My ECU **** itself... Updated my friends firmware, added my ecu file and dropped it in the car. Had it in for close to an hour. The idle never jumped and we also took it for a drive. Those cruse cells that are insanely high i have been wondering about.. in his ecu i had a trim of -4 to -14 from idle in threw the cruse cells. So the cas1 and the inj drivers are bad or going bad. I just finished emailing Adaptronic support also.. So we'll see what they say. My only issue is it's out of warranty so i may be screwed...

Hi Carl,
Since the select ecus are long been discontinued, I am not sure if we still have parts to replace it if needed. If ever the ecu was sent for repair and was not repaired we still charge for testings.
If you want to proceed please let us know.

Here is part of the repair form i got....
All ECU returns must be accompanied by an Adaptronic Return Information Sheet. Any Adaptronic product received without this form fully completed and signed, will NOT be inspected and will be returned to the customer at their expense.
Please note: e420c ECUs are no longer able to be bench tested or repaired. Select ECU repairs will depend on the availability of parts.
Prepaid Repair Charges:
o The fixed bench testing / diagnosing service charge for an Adaptronic Modular or Select ECU is $88 AUD inc GST (or $75 USD) even if no fault can be found or if deemed unrepairable. This service charge covers handling costs, diagnosing, and a full factory re-test of the returned unit. If the unit can be repaired, then
o The minimum repair charge for an Adaptronic Modular or Select ECU is $200 AUD inc GST (or $175 USD), which already includes the diagnostic test cost. The final price of the product repair service will depend on both the time taken to repair the unit and the cost of materials.
o Repairs have a 90-day warranty. If the unit sent in is still under its original warranty, then the new warranty is 90 days or to the end of the original one year warranty, depending upon which is longer.
o Return freight charges will be additional to the bench testing / repair charges.

So you pay to send it across the globe, pay to have them fix it after it died due to their shitty halfass design, then you pay again to have it mailed back across the globe to you, where then you can maybe get anothet 7000 miles out of it before it craps again and you either get to pay again IF they still service them. To me the entire operation is bullshit and anyone that reps or pushes it clearly has a self serving angle on it because it clearly isnt about the end user.
