What happened to Adaptronic Forum?
 

I just went to check up on some threads on Adaptronic's website and every forum link just dumps you back to their home page. There was tons of good information there, all gone. Even the setup blog posts are gone on things like IACV.

They've revamped the whole site
I assume they'll be putting the forum back up, with a setup to forward old links to the new threads. It would be terribly disappointing (and inconvenient) otherwise

I posted on their FB page and it sounds like the forum isn't coming back. Wish I knew. I have a bunch of bookmarks I would have screen grabbed.

That's a terrible thing to take away from their clientele. It was a significant resource.

Here is a copy of the manual from the Select ECUs. I just downloaded it, and it looks like it will be a good source of information for understanding the Modular/Eugene combo as well.
A lot of the specifics are different, but there are enough similarities that it should be helpful

I have that, at least, but when you're running WARI there are some help links and what not that point to their website. All dead. Want to freshen up on all the transient settings? Nope, click the "Setup Help" button and you get an ad for the the RX8 Plug and play. I have two 440d units because they were considered great for rotaries at the time. I haven't even installed the second one, still waiting for the motor to come in but now that I mostly know the software I figured it would be a breeze to install...but some things just aren't explained in the manual. They were outlined perfectly on Andy's blog and a few forum posts.

As much as the forum was a good resource it had many flaws and unfortunately with the limited staff available really was hard to manage for the team. We will be working on adding all the needed documentation onto the new website. Currently all of Andy's blogs on the modular ECU's is available along with his blog videos.

I still think the forum could have been left online but closed for comments - effectively acting as an archive. As a forum owner and administrator, I appreciate it takes resources to host a forum database - even an inactive one - but there is no way for individuals to replicate the technical knowledge amassed by a collective forum community over many years in the form of blog posts - it's just not possible. Support forums exist precisely to cater for all of the little tips and tricks and bespoke solutions which manuals cannot cover. A support forum is superior to one-to-one customer support and should actually result in less work too because the feedback is available to all and you can supply a link to questions already covered by others. Adaptronic should seriously consider its decision. I for one base my purchasing decisions on support levels and competitors do have properly staffed support forums. If I can run a forum with 33K members and 2 million posts in my spare time as a hobby, I'm pretty sure someone could run an infinitely smaller one for a business as their full time job - just saying.

I completely agree with Kypreo, hence me starting this thread. I chose the Adaptronic ECU because of how easy it was to type into google things like "adaptronic rx7 wiring" or "adaptronic rx7 idle" and get a link to Andy's blog as the first result and a link to an extended conversation on the forum as the second result. Some of the topics might have been cross posted here, but when you're trying to solve a very specific issue, and you don't live down the block from a tuner that has spent their career working on your exact engine setup, you're going to have to crowd source solutions on forums and work with people going through the same issues to come up with a solution. Just because you see decreased activity on the forum doesn't mean it isn't getting used. Low activity just means people are actually searching for their solutions rather than starting a new thread.

I was just going to check out that form after visiting this site. Without that form i would of never of figured out my itb set up. I found a brand new universal select 440d from a member on this site for my series 3 rx7. The info on that form was priceless for me. Because i had no clue on what i was doing when i first started tuning. Im glad i figured out my tps based enrichment and everything else before they erased all the old info. I love my old select 440d and wari. Seems like there is a lot of problems with the new eugene and modular ecu.

By taking it offline they just did a disservice to everyone who actually bothered to do the old fashion thing and read online in an effort to self learn and self fix a problem. Meanwhile those who just blindly ask facebook everything without any effort will be rewarded.

Welcome to the social tuning ecu where learning, history and effort are trumped by unproven instant gratification spouts of bullshit from every genius who hath dubbed himself a tuner.

This is nuts. The forum was a great place to find out the capabilities of the ECU. That is where I learned how to convert my ABS to Traction Control (it works). :pat:

YouTube. They dont actually have a print version of anything like a manual. The select ecu's had a complete hardware/software manual that was 100+ pages that was invaluable to understanding the ecu's operation. You'd think this would be something they put stock in given the closing of their forums.

When I have a tuning question related to the ecu or software I first refer to the 482 page haltech elite manual and figure out how it all works. I'm very very happy that I have that resource as opposed to having to contact one of their salesmen for tech info.

What a terrible loss of information.

I'm finding it amazing how poorly supported/documented the select 440d is. The manual is missing so much information on specific functions this ECU was advertised to possess. I'm hoping they put something together at least, to cover all of it's functions.
It's a stark contrast to the support that was available when I purchased the unit, which only seems like yesterday, but I realise was some 4 years ago now.

It might very well be. Vote with your money and support companies that support their products.

If they dont get their software sorted that rebuild may come sooner than you think.

So, now that I'm getting close to completing my build, I am in the process of simplifying my S4 T2 harness. I'm now running into some road blocks when it comes to setting this thing up. Again, I have an S4 Select PNP, but I am having a hard time finding information on how to wire up my LC-1 and EGT (LC-1 more importantly). I go to the Adaptronic site and all I see is articles on the Modular ECU's. Is their any info out there anymore on how to set up the gauge and have it linked to the ECU? Please tell me that I'm blind and that I've forgotten how to search LOL!!
