178 mph in Colorado Springs off of Mark Shuffle. My buddy has the video on his camcorder, I'm just waiting for him to convert it from his old camcorder to video so I can post it, I did get a 160 mph flyby on my other friend's dvd camcorder...wasn't quite as fast or fun as 178 but check it out anyways so you know I'm not full of bs...

120MPH in 4th gear at roughly 5,000RPM in my FD.

I was testing my boost.

EDIT:

Had my '88 Turbo II with an S5 longblock @ 140mph at only 7,500RPM in 4th gear.

^_^

EDIT #2:

I do like the gear ratiors ALOT better on the FD though. Even better top-end.

140 in a mostly stock FC, the cool thing.......its not even turbo yet. basic mods like exhaust and intake, so I was surprised, could have gone faster but ran out of road. Sang all the way to the red!

Your joking right? Even though the book top speed is 155?

Japanese cars are limited to 112 mph, mine is de-limited and ive had 167 on a straight probably 2 miles long from a rolling start at 60mph.

Isn't the stock rev limiter set at 7800 rpms? That's quite a few miles shy of 140... I saw using the PFC. Kicked her off the rev limiter in 4th, and it was in the upper 120s or lower 130s IIRC. Def. not 140. That's theoretical if I'm not mistaken. Heck, I don't think even the stock speedo will reach 140 at 7800 rpms in 4th.

Slowww. lol. I hit 150 practically twice or three times a week during the summer Heck, I passed the top of 4th and went into 5th a few times tonight w/ Steve Kan Apparently I'm making 1.04 bar (PFC) at 35 degrees C on stock pump and injectors

My record is still 165 (according to the speedo, which means it's probably really only 160 or so) coming back from Rotary Revolution I was running out of road FAST haha.

No, the stock ecu has the rev limiter at 8300 rpm. The default PFC setting is 8100 rpm. The gearing in 4th works out to 140 mph at redline with the stock wheels/tires. I've hit the rev limiter in 4th (whoops! ) and I was just past 140 mph when I still had the stock wheels/tires.

Hmm...guess the rev limiter was dropped to 7800 on my PFC during tuning, since I'm hitting 100% injector duty cycle as it is

I swear mine goes to almost 150 in 4th. Ive checked it up to 85 on the cop-computer things on the side of the road. I know itll go off by a bit but 10 mph?

My buds prelude and my car said the same speed at 145... His off too?

You're in England...do you have a Type RZ? Cuz it has different gear ratios, and thus the top speeds of the (different) gears would be different...

Thing is, I remember the RZ as just having a different 5th, it specifically being shorter and thus giving you faster acceleration, but a lower top speed...

130.....something. I was focused and didn't take a lot of time to count the little dashes. I know that's not all that fast, but I was on a closed section of runway and had a nasty cross-wind. The surface also had some expansion joints that were pretty big and if I got too close, it made the car a little squirrely, like suddenly having twice the neg. camber. Pucker-factor kicked in and I backed off. For an old stock car, she still had some left.

I hate to admit it...but i've hit 140 on I-295; on the way back from William and Mary. PLENTY of room left to go faster and the car certainly could have...but i decided it was fast enough for me.

Sure enough...about 1-1/2 miles after that a cop had somebody pulled over...that was a relief.

Kelowna to Vancouver, for almost an hour, 2nd best drive of my life. But that's when I was immortal. I miss those days.

A mildly modified FD with the lower (J spec) 5th gear should be able to get near to or hit redline in 5th. (~175mph)

This might be a repost but I'm too lazy to read the other 20 pages, isn't there a video of someone in a black FD flying through a tunnel maxing his car out at 180+?

If you get a nice cop he'll give you a ticket for exceeding the maximum allowable speed limit. Only $98 if he's doing his job you go to jail, they impound your car (likely not to see it again) and you loose your lisence for a bit. (-:

IF you need to convert speeds use google. just like this

http://www.google.ca/search?hs=86k&h...G=Search&meta=

easy as pie and it works really good too, i'm assuming its accurate too.

Prodigy...are you getting at what I was thinking? Crazy Dane's FD was in Europe (Sweden?), and he had the stock 180 kmph cluster, so essentially all we know is he broke 112 mph? Cuz that's what I was thinking (although he was obviously pushing 150 easy).
