Passenger side key hole light

Is there anyone that has a light in there passenger side door handle? I been told by someone that the passenger side (LHD) does not come with one, only drivers side. Yet I have one, original wiring and nothing was replaced with JDM.

For some reason it doesn't illuminate either, there is no power to the bulb.

Why would mazda go through the trouble of installing something that wont be utilized,?

The CPU#2 and door wiring are only to the driver door, so those are only in the LH door for a LHD car and RH door for the RHD car. The handle assembly you can get the RHD RH one and you'll get the light with it, so maybe you have the RHD RH handle assembly on your passenger door?

Wiring has nothing to do with the door handle. The wiring runs from the car into the handle.

So if the handle was removed the orig wires would still be there.

If you buy a handle it does not come with the light or wires, it's just the moving Hardwear on the back of the handle

You probably have a rhd door handle.

Are you the original owner? The door handles break sometimes. Is the key flapper plastic or metal?

Lol ok I'm going to explain this again, as per the post above. If you buy a the door handle, it comes as a handle, that's it, It does not include wiring. The wiring goes from your car, throught the door and up to the handle.

Nope, you can buy it with the wiring or without.

There's a connector behind the door panel for the handle harness, the door handle section can be unplug. You'll have to get into the panel to see what's there, the handle harness is a 4 pins connector (2 wires for the light). You'll have to trace it to see if Mazda ran the wiring for both side, maybe the passenger door section won't have the light wire for LHD.

@tomsn16 probably knows if both door harness are the same.

The wire loom color is also a clue I think, blue is RHD and green is LHD, maybe.

OP look to have blue loom.

That is a Yahoo japan auction, so I can't read that. But I know for a fact my handles did not come with wires from the dealer!

I don't see the white wires going into yours, so I'm not sure how it would work

Euro/Canadian LHD cars had a weird mix of stuff. Headlight washers, levelers, stuff like that. Like a super-touring spec.

What does the outside of the door handle look like?
Does it still have the key flapper?
Is it plastic or metal?
Take a pic.

I can read it, here's a rough translation off the top of my head:

eFini RX-7 2nd model (previous term) outer handle set, left and right, door **** (genuine new and unused). Item is new and unused, but may have some scratches or rubbing present from storage or shipping.

Simple explanation is that illuminated door locks were only on the driver's door, regardless of region. If yours is on the passenger side, your handle, lock cylinder or door was swapped and re-keyed accordingly.
