well, as far as all of the other solenoids are concerned, do you just cut tham out an forget about them or do you need to do something else with them...

Question

Hi all, for all of you that have went single turbo or haven't, what can do with this line (painted red in pic) . can you cap it off? or do you have to route it to the compressor side of your turbo or somewhere where it will recieve + manifold pressure?

Thanks

I would, but I don't know why yet. I don't know if it's part emmisons, or fuel delivery.

The diagram shows the oil filler neck, but doesn't show where the 2 vacuum lines on it go. Do I just cap the nipples too?
I call someone and he said I should keep that line that goes to the PCV valve and the UIM.
He said the nipple that points down can be left open.
Help please! I'm doing the mod right now!

Cap it. The general rule is Use any existing nipples for the things you need/equipped with(BOV, fpr, map, etc.). With the rest of them, CAP IT!

the nipple that runs down I have going to my oil catch can...BUT, you can just cap it. If you don't, when you put oil in the filler neck, it 'may' drain out of that nipple.

One more question.
I know that I gotta put resistors on the solenoid plugs or whatever they're called. I've done the color coded ones that was on the rack. What about plug for the turbo control solenoid? Should I put a resistor on it or just leave it w/o anything. Right now, it has nothing on it.

Rikki,
I just got my car and im having some boost issues. Sometimes the secondary turbo kicks sometimes it doesnt. I wanna go non seqential but dont know if that will resolve my problems. For all of you that have done this set up how long did it take you? How much did it cost?

It can cost you next to nothing. (less than $5) if you do it the rikki way, or around $100, if you do it the complete way. That would include block off plates, resistors, a machine shop to bore out your wastegate, a couple feet of vacuum line etc. etc. CJ

I did it more of the complete way than anything. BUT I also have the PFC...so no worries on resistors.

It cost me $2...because clothes hangers were FREE! Also, a block off plate I made...$2 for a piece of aluminum to block of the acv.

If you do the work yourself, Even the complete way will cost you less than that...ALOT less....as per mine. The only difference between mine and Rikki's non-sequential is his flapper door is out, while mine is still in.

With non-sequential...we don't get "boost creep" issues...dont' know why...but I don't and Rikki doesn't either

Alright, this sounds to good to be true. I've been doing a lot of research and it sure seems like almost everyone that has done this set up is very happy with it. Thanks Jspecracer for your response. Just wish you lived in my area where you could watch over my back while i do this. Seems simple enough and hopefully nothing will go wrong.
With a stock motor, catback, and intake how when will i be able to hit fullboost? I heard the lag is quite noticable..

Do you think Mazda had a clue on this one? Every solenoid, but the TCA vacuum solenoid is checked by the computer. Strange how tha detail - the most problematic detail - is over looked. Hmmm?
