No more beep?

On saturday after I changed out my rebar to the '99 spec rebar, my battery died. It was an autocraft silver battery so I just replaced it with an optima yellow top.

Needless to say I don't have a beep anymore when I lock my door. I think I also lost the high rev beep but I have to confirm that tomorrow. I drove straight to the rev limiter and didn't know what happened. Do those sounds come from the same buzzer? Would there be any reason that the dead battery would cause this or is it just coincidence?

possibly damaged cpu2

Reading the electrical manual and I think it maybe something wrong with CPU 2. I just noticed that the "key in igntion beep isn't there." Nor is the "light is on still" beep.

Is there any fuse related to cpu 2 or am I going to have to hunt down a replacement for it?

I just don't see how a dead battery can make cpu 2 go bad.

I just mentioned this in another thread, but you can use the "1993 Body Electrical Troubleshooting Manual" to do a full check of CPU #2. This CPU controls a lot of things (including the stock alarm) so it is as not as simple as checking a single fuse. A new CPU #2 is $300 so finding one used is your best bet if it is faulty.

Looked through the FSM and all it says is that CPU2 needs to be replaced. It may not be damaged since my alarm works and I can hear the relay actuating when I lock the door.

Where is the buzzer physically located? I want to check that first

The buzzer is located inside the CPU2 box.The box is located left and infront of the restfoot pedal.

Damn. So I have to replace the f'in cpu2 just because there is no sound. That really sucks because everything else works fine. Oh well.
