These cars sold for $34K brand new in 1993. I don't think 37 is unreasonable.

That's a bold statement, considering that it will be worth about $20k the second it's driven off the lot...

Wow, Edmunds says $15,477.00, $1,443 of which came from the mileage bonus.

Someone will pay for it eventually I'll bet. I wouldn't, but someone will. Too bad it's an automatic. Why go through the trouble of mothballing an automatic sports car?

Ah, it has the special "rotorary" engine in it. A rare find indeed.

On a serious note, if I had the money, I would buy it and do the manual tranny swap. A new FD, never been ragged on, with all parts new and shiny.

Not to mention it's montego blue with tan interior. Not my personal preference, but I guess that would be a matter of opinion.

interesting how on the price list, the option for automatic costs $900, yet now an automatic depreciates far more than a manual. for those who bought like that, talk about bitting you in the ***.

It is very special indeed. Look at some of the features:

60/40 Split-Fold Rear Seat
Adjustable Steering Wheel
Auto-Dimming Rear-View Mirror
Cup Holders
Keyless Entry
3 Point Rear Seat Belts
Anti-Skid Control
Traction Control

Ouchy mama!! The subject FD has been driven an average of about 1.26 miles per month,...OR 15.12 miles per year. Doesn't suspension components (bushings/shocks/ball joints,..etc,..etc.) start to deteriorate if the car just sits there like this one has (over 9 years) ?

They probably dry rotted from lack of use over the last 9-10 years.

Exclamation

My FD was sitting unused in a garage for 5 years It had 40K miles on it. All rubber had to be replaced. The water pump was replaced. A car just sitting does age. Don't forget the apex seals and their need for lubrication and shiffting deformation forces.

I suggest everyone remembering an FD is 9-11 years old. Automotiive material technology has improved since then.

It might not have aged too badly if it was stored properly. Still, thats a long time to sit, even in a climate controlled garage.

Just because it is still unused doesn't mean that there is not any wear due to time. Do you really think the engine oil has been replaced every three months? Ill bet whoever had it thought that it would be OK because it still had not been driven 3,000 miles. Remember, this is almost ten years old.

Im not ragging, I just think that is a hell of alot to pay for that car.

BTW, the red FD in your sig is beautiful!

Still, it is pretty dope. Would be cool to be the first registered owner of an FD! I just wish I would have been in the position to buy one new back in the day.

Is it just me, or does it look like someone smeared Vaseline on the camera lens? Has that Playboy soft focus going on. Go figure.

It is neat to see a car like that.

BTW, I remember YEARS back that one of the guys that founded Napster had an ULTRA low mileage (like under 1000) CYM parked in his *living room* with the window sticker on it. Now THAT'S the car you mothball!
