We still have this one...purchased from Ray Crowe 6/16/21.
We plan to keep for a local install.
We have installed several and they are AWESOME
I've emailed Ray three times, and gotten zero responses. Since this thread is making it clear that a lot of these vendors aren't to be trusted, and my local Mazda dealer won't order, does anyone have any advice on how to get one of these engines?!

I found that Ray is usually easier to reach by phone or txt, during normal business hours (east coast time); emails tend to get lost.
GTIkyle Did you try Doug's Mazda in Lynwood? They have a white FC turbo 2 10AE, on their second floor show room in the window for everyone to see on the high traffic road in front for years now. They also take 2 Repus to local car shows. I have not needed to order from them, but I'm betting the owner is into rotaries.
edit: actually, I did a quick search and they are definitely into rotaries, I bet they might order you an engine.

I think Ray Crowe is one of the most trusted in the RX7 community and for good reason. He is sometimes slow to respond to email, but I have always been able to reach him by phone. I think the reason why no one can get engines right now is because Mazda has not sent any for awhile. Hopefully that changes soon. That being said any vendor that takes money up front and does not refund is not good.

This is not just a problem with getting new engines from them. I know of a motor that has been there with money down for 18 months. Very little communication from IRP and when you do get in contact with them, they give a date that never gets hit. Cycle repeats over and over with no progress.
An update to my post; I know it's no consolation to anyone who has paid for an engine..... but Paul from IRP called me on the phone shortly after I posted this (I doubt this is related) as I had kept emailing looking for this refund. There was apparently some issue with their system trying to refund my transaction that wasn't flagged and they couldn't correct so it was overlooked. He ended up sending my a cheque in the mail which I have received and deposited. He still didn't have any idea when the Xcessive back orders were going to be filled; but in the end they made things right for my transaction.
Update to my update. The cheque IRP sent me for this refund was deposited on my credit card. After a couple weeks it then bounced and was reversed on my credit card with an "NSF" note from the bank. Paul told me a certified bank cheque would be sent again but now it's been a couple more weeks and I'm being ghosted.

Was just watching this rx7 build video this morning and if you go to 17:15, looks like the YouTube people also cannot get calls back on parts they ordered from IRP.
Man I know that if I was in a situation where these guys owe me 5 or 10 thousand dollars I would have bought an plane ticket and been down there at their doorstep. Not sure how some of you could let this go on for years.
Really? Thats what you would do? You’d spend another $5k on plane tickets a rental car and bail $? Its a waste of time and money. You go there and do anything except say “hey, wheres my money?” And you’d be the one in jail. Thats why I made a complaint to the Middlesex County DA’s office. Yes, they have opened an investigation. If I was any of you I would do it also……..I asked if this email and contact info could be posted here and I have not heard back yet….

Plane tickets aren't $5k first of all, more like 300 to 600 bucks round trip. Second, I didn't say I would go down there and kick anyones ***. I would be down there demanding answers. Obviously you cant get any via email or on the phone. No progress, no product delivered, proceed with civil litigation. Even going down there and saying "hey, wheres my money" is better than doing nothing, letting it drag on for years, or crying on an internet forum.

I would again suggest that unless you need an entire engine and don’t intend to tear it down for modifications that you might possibly be able to source new irons, rotor housings, and rotors for a competitive alternative as I was able to do.

+1, i built a spreadsheet, and priced everything out. i would suggest including tax and shipping.
Another shop has posted that they ordered on 4-26-2023 you can see the date on the packing slip and that it arrived 7-13-2023. If this is true than any excuse from IRP about not getting them in is a lie.
Nothing here I emailed them after they posted about losing the email with the employee or what ever happened. And haven't heard anything at all back yet that was a few weeks ago.
Haven’t heard a single thing from them. They’re just blatantly lying to everyone at this point. Is there some collective legal action we could take or are we just all screwed.
