Has everyone got their issues resolved or questions answer lately?
Since the new year I keep calling and texting but no response, maybe they are on vacation?
Damn, wish I saw this earlier, ordered an Xcessive Manifold last week from them. I have a friend who ordered one last fall and and had it before Christmas so I'm thinking there isn't any hold-up from IRP here, rather from Xcessive. Prior to ordering they did tell me about Xcessive doing the whole retool thing and it is listed as MFG Backorder on their site, so I knew what I was getting into. But I gotta think the backlog for these are starting to clear; if I have mine in 3mths (same amount of time it took for my friend to get his) it won't affect my rebuild/engine install schedule at all.
There is no ETA on those anywhere that I've seen. Agree that's not an IRP issue. But if that were me, I'd keep the money in my pocket until it's available (or firm ETA) vs letting a shop with these kind of issues just hold onto it indefinitely.

^This here is great advice. No reason why a middle man vendor (in this case IRP) should need to charge your credit card before the product of another vendor (Xcessive in this case) is available & ready to ship.
As an good example of how vendor's SHOULD handle sales of products produced by other vendors, I ordered a set of new tan leather seat skins for my FD from Ari at RX7.com a little over a month ago. Ari told me upfront that his vendor might be slow in fulfilling the order, but he wouldn't be charging my CC until his vendor had the product ready to ship, and that is exactly what happened. I knew going in it might be a long wait, but my money is not tied up while I'm waiting either.

Connect with DJP Performance Co (djp-performance.com / sales@djp-performance.com) I was on their waiting list for one and they emailed me that they have some on order heading to their location. I went with a pro jay, so I am no longer interested in the Xcessive manifold.
It doesn't matter now, my order was placed prior to me posting. Like I say, had a friend who ordered one in Sept or Oct and had it prior to Christmas, so my expectation would be a similar result.
I've been following this thread but honestly, a lot of things are taking time to ship or be made. There are just inherent delays in some availability of items. Plus if you are in a queue for certain hand-made items, you can bet that it just extends the wait period.

While I agree, it is hard to do that - especially at scale. A business relies on whatever system they have in place to manage their sales. Most systems (like Shopify for example) are designed to sell product, not manage backlogs of made to order products. Ari is managing that manually in your case. With low volume parts for a low volume car, it's time consuming to manage this sort of stuff. Not offering excuses btw...
My golden rules:
- only buy if it's in stock
- try to buy from the source (i.e. get a reman from Ray) but that's not always possible
I'm too impatient and untrusting to buy any made to order parts
And if a shop wants to be a distributor for a certain product, don't let them pass the cost of that to you. If they aren't willing to stock up on a reasonable level of inventory so they can ship as soon as they receive a customer's funds. Might as well buy from the manufacturer yourself. Xcessive has their own webpage for sales, no reason to order the LIM from anywhere else.

I can actually comment on this. I ended up ordering the last Xcessive LIM prior to them making mold changes. They mentioned that they were looking for a new manufacturer and struggling to find one, but were hoping to resume production in early 2022. I dont know what became of this, but figured I would shed some light on the situation. It could have taken longer to find a new manufacturer.
Because IRP is sourcing the LIM directly from Xcessive, maybe give Xcessive a call to see if they have a new manufacturer. I spoke with Ryan directly, which was helpful. This way you can get the information directly from Xcessive.
And. For giggles. Let’s look at the business practices being deployed.
1. Google Xcessive manifold and a picture for IRP shows up, “Sale” and “ in stock” front and center
2. click on link to go to IRP webpage: shows as “on sale” and big button to purchase and add options.
3. all the way at the bottom in the fine print (literally final text on the page) states it’s on back order. Now there is a disclaimer at the top of all the pages of the website that says things are taking longer than normal due to supply chain.
But still pretty misleading to show something on sale with a line through the original price if you can’t actually purchase it and there is no timeline on if it will be back. The right thing to do here is label it clearly out of stock ant the TOP of the page, don’t give the perception that it’s “on sale”, and remove the option to purchase it. Maybe create an interest list instead so IRP could help show the demand to the manufacturer.
literally sales “SALE !” At the top of the page with the exclamation point. How on earth can this be on sale if it’s been over a year out of stock and no end in sight?
yeah, it hasn’t even been listed on the Xcessive Mfg. website for almost two years now …
once they have you’re money, you’re hooked for the full duration being the sucker-fish that swallowed not just the stinky bait, but the hook, the line, and sinker too.

Curious if anyone has heard anything about the engines yet I haven't heard anything from them in awhile probably should message them but I'm sure I'll get the same ghosted message of I'll get back with you
Wondering if anyone has even received an engine from them in the last 2 years.
I decided to put together an ordered list of people still waiting on an engine. I think it would be good if we all worked together to keep track of the waitlist.
Maybe it would be worth turning this into its own thread too.

maybe a phone call to IB Corporate is needed. I keep pointing out that the people in this boat need to be pro-active. There’s only so much the rest of us can do not being an actual victim.
at $5k+ each that’s not chump change, and that’s just the engines, not everybody else with other orders.
.
All required the full amount to be paid in advance.

They've already been removed as a vendor on here. Not sure what else you're looking for IB staff to do.
