why do they still have 4.6 out of 5 on google reviews?

it's all well and good to preach on here, but shouldn't some people post their reviews on google?

Wow. How am I just finding this thread now? I dropped my car off on 11/27/22 for a new wiring harness build and ecu install with a few extra things (140 amp alt, walbro 450 install, ign-1a kit install, catch can, giving my engine install a once over, etc) after they rebuilt my engine back in 2020. The rebuild took almost 11 months and now we're sitting at 9 months since I dropped the car off, 3 increases in the estimate, and almost no word on progress or expected completion. Paul has since been removed from the company and I was optimistic the communication would get better but it hasn't. I seem to be in the same boat with most everyone here with little to no response from phone calls or emails and we're at about $21,000 since starting the rebuild process.

Sorry to hear,
This is one of those times you just stop by in person to see the status.... or don't if you're not prepared. Good luck to you.

Yeah I've been hearing that from all my friends and family. It's a 6 hour round trip though so I'd have to find some time.

Anyone contacted the BBB? I had luck with getting a house contractor to come to the table after I did.

Have you corresponded with anyone in recent weeks? I recommend you keep calling until you get someone. Make sure you use the new shop number: 732-641-7982.

I've heard from Ihor here and there via facebook messenger. As recently as Thursday when their website went down and my latest email was returned "failed to deliver". Supposedly they're migrating servers but the website still isn't up. Anytime I request pictures of progress or a planned project end date I get no response or they only talk about other stuff. Every single time I've called since dropping the car off I've gotten the machine and I've only ever received a return call like twice out of 20 calls.

I have not, but there are 3 complaints on there. I've just been hoping to get my project done without reviews, BBB, or legal action.

I'm in the same exact boat as you. I spoke with Lyss on 8/21 who gave me the entire story about what happened with Paul and had a follow up text from Ihor. I suggest that anyone that has given them money call and keep calling. You're owed an explanation and a time frame for resolution. I'm not sharing my conversation on here as I feel it should come straight from the source and I'm not in the habit of starting rumors.

The IRP rip-off list appears to continue.
Too bad you guys don't live closer to TN....here's pic of the Thompson FD Garage serving middle TN owners.
We do everything BUT engine rebuilds (too risky).....instead we install Mazda crate motors for $8K plus any new parts required.
Almost never have a car for more than 4 weeks.
Cars shown in pic are in for:
Red 93,,,,,AC / rats nest hoses / pulsation damper

MB 93......Single Turbo conversion
Blue V8 track car.....custom exhaust & host of other mods

I understand not wanting to share your conversation but did you get a time frame for resolution?

I'm just wondering, how long they are gonna use this Paul excuse for. Maybe stop taking orders and get your **** straight first.

Yeah. I completely understand that a lot of issues are a result of things Paul did but since they day I was told Paul was gone, all the lack of communication can't be attributed to him anymore.

I did and I'll be satisfied if they get within a month of it.

Would you mind sending me a PM letting me know when you dropped your car off and when you expect to get it back? I just have no idea how long everyone else is generally waiting for their projects.

As noted above, the Thompson Garage typically keeps a car about 4 weeks...longer if engine bay painting is needed.

Sounds like a nice short turnaround.

Unlike most shops, we don't take a car until there is an open bay (have 3) and NO up-front money (owner usually buys new parts).

At this point I think ANYTHING from IRP is going to be rolling the dice.

Nice. Glad that worked out. I'm heading up to the shop on Friday to get a look at my car and see what the status is.

ok I met with Ihor today. There's A LOT going on that can't and shouldn't be talked about in regards to a former employee. We talked for almost 2 hours and we went over my build and he answered all of my questions. I know getting ahold of someone to talk to can be difficult but I feel much better since we were able to talk today and suggest that people should continue to try and get on the phone or an in person meeting with Ihor.
