Question I have no idea.....

Okay whenever my car is on and i hit the brake or even move the steering wheel from side to side i hear a wierd noise from what sounds like right in the middle of the engine compartment. If i don't touch anything it eventually goes away. But when i go under the hood i can't hear it. It sounds like either something is vibrating or fluid is flowing through something but not like a water noise and it's not constant, it like studders. I can't really explain the noise, but if anyone has any idea could you please help. I don't know if it is a bad thing or if it's supposed to do that. Any help is appriciated, the noise is really annoying. I can't hear it when im driving it's only when im stopped. It's not loud enough for me to hear when im driving.

If you hear the noise when you move the steering wheel, then it's most likely something steering related. Check your steering rack, power steering pump, and related hoses for any leaks.

You have to play with it and find out EXACTLY when and where it does the noise. For all we know, you could have a bad brake caliper, and everytime you hit the brakes, you hear a little brake fluid rushing out, and when you release the brake, you hear air rushing back into the system, but if this were the case, then your brakes would start feeling spongee from the air within the brake system.

You might just even have a little bit of air trapped in your coolant system.

Try jacking up the car, having someone sit inside of it and start pushing the brakes and turning the steering wheel. Make sure the car is on jack stands, first

I'm going by memory here (Uhm) but check to see if your brake recall has been done. There will be a white mark (dot) on the vacuum hose to the power assist (the big round black thing the master cylinder is attached too) I thought that there was a check valve that was part of the recall that would/could/might make a similar noise. Anyone else confirm this?
